Please distract yourself from your misery by voting for a new DC United board subtitile. Credit for choice 1 goes to Cweed and choice 2 to GoDC
How about these options? All Gazza all the time! Our silverware cabinet is teeming, but we can't find the key! This board: Chicken Soup for the Fan. The Red And Black&blue. Our salary cap is on injured reserve. How's yours? Nobody between the ages of 19 and 28 need apply! Most mentioned MLS team on the BBC this month! -G. Rex
I voted for Plan on ... but I have to say that I like "All Gazza, all the time" whether he comes here or not.
I suggest: "What the hell was that?!!?" This is the one statement/question that I've said more often than any other this season, whether it was due to a pass to the other team or a cross into the crowd. Or basically at any moment that Lazo is on the field.
odg is a friggin genius. I vote 50,000 times for anything along those lines, provided we sign sir Gasciogne. On a niggling note, shouldn't it be something like: "6 cups, 5 bellies"? Tim
I admit I wasn't a fan of the current subtitle until September. Now it just makes us seem so much better than everyone else. We still suck, though.
On a related note, Jimmy Conrad does this thing for cnnsi and had a pretty funny quiz show like piece with his San Jose teammates (<a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/us/news/2002/07/14/conrad_six/index.html">read full article</a>). The relevant portion is the "Word Association" part. Here is the excerpt about DC Utd: 6. United Mulrooney: We stand Agoos: Way Conway: Screamin' Eagles Barrett: Capitol Donovan: We stand Cannon: Crap Robinson: States Lagos: We stand Gonzalez: Bruce Arena I'd say some of these guys are reading bigsoccer. The thesis: the current tagline is effective. But odg is still a genius. If Gazza stays, its five bellies all the way! Tim
Yes I saw that. But he should know better than associate crap with United! ps-Maybe I should have attached one of these : .
Personally, I really like the subtitle. It became so popular that everyone across the country got on our bandwagon and used it for licence plates and t-shirts and posters and everything. It feels good to have started a trend. If we were to have a new one, it should be something like "I got season tickets for THIS!?"
at least we're not metroscum. half glass full or am i just reaching for positives in a glum situation? btw. love the 'our salary caps on injured reserve, how's yours?'
Watta yu no, Joey iss comin fora som a golfin nexa weeken! Maybe I'll getta a bigga Bertta and stampa CRAP right across hissa foreheada!
