I think that's about right. Michael Bradley came over to Heerenveen as a 19 year old with two years of MLS action. This seems to me to be the right time to come over. Robbie Rogers and and the Vietnamese-American whose name escapes me both came over and did not succeed.

If you're thinking from the Dutch perspective, I can see someone not wanting a USAmerican to take a spot in the Feyenoord Academy. However, from a USA perspective I would rather see a young talent like Dunning attend the Academy whilst still in high school.

What are his options in the USA? At 16, he could probably sit on the bench at OKC Energy, the Dallas FC affiliate in the USL, and get occasional playing time. Or he could play US high school futbol, which is greatly sub-par to European youth academies. At Feyenoord he will continue his high school education and get better training then in a US high school.

Academies are developing in the USA, but not yet to the level that Europe can offer.

It just goes to show you that in the right circumstances (and right European heritage), there are many players in the U.S. that can find a place in Europe. Jamie wasn't even playing up on the U-17 team last season but was stuck in the U-16 black hole that US Soccer created. I was truly shocked he made a prominent squad in Europe but maybe he had a killer try-out. Good for him and encouraging for others.

  5. It seems Feyenoord is interested in Yassin Ben El-Mhanni of Newcastle United on a free transfer. But I also read in the UK press several clubs in England are interested in him too.
So I wonder if we have a chance to lure him, given English championship teams pay more than we can afford.
And is he worthwhile chasing anyway?

Feyenoord have also been reported to be interested in Saido Berahino who is with Stoke City but fell out of favor with the trainer. Hasn't scored in a senior match in over two years. Wouldn't be the first striker who went to Feyenoord to try to jump start his career again.

And Jordy Clasie says he wants out of Southampton and a return to Feyenoord. With El Ahmadi leaving this summer, Jordy would make a suitable replacement.

What about Tapia? Any news about him?

Not listed with the current Newcastle U squad so I suspect they want to offload him. Sometimes desperation leads to a lower price. Take a look at his stats. Underwhelming.

    2015 Farnborough 4 appearances 0 goals
    2015-16 Lewes 11 appearances 0 goals
    2016- Newcastle U 0 appearances 0 goals

I would pass on this guy unless he is cheap and he proves himself with the reserve squad first. The Stoke City striker sounds more promising considering he did score 14 times in the Premier League in 2014-15 for West Brom.

  9. I would like Feyenoord scout more in Mexico. The Eredivisie has a big appeal in Mexico.
Players that failed at several clubs might not be the most successful way to build a cham

Feyenoord coming 19th of July celebrates it's 110th birthday.

Alexander--Arnold is really good and like de Ligt on the England NT on this WC. He might win it

  12. Sigh, the world is going mad after Trvmp and Pvtin conspired.
Feyenoord striker Jorgensen received death threats after missing his penalty for Denmark from Danish "fans".

My bad; I overlooked his name. You are right, he should win this one without any problem. Good to see one Yank, Christian Pulisic, on the list. What I really wonder is how many of those on the list are playing first team senior football. I don't think it's all that many. Also, Luca Zidane (son of IIRC) is on the list twice!!!:p

  15. Some football sites are real morons.
    Voetbalzone.nl announces Feyenoord :
"Feyenoord will strengthen itself with Levi Skyum. The fourteen-year-old attacker from the United States comes from the Singaporean."

"Feyenoord gaat zich versterken met Levi Skyum. De veertienjarige aanvaller uit de Verenigde Staten komt over van de Singaporese ...."

What brainsize have those guys putting that on their website about a 14 year old kid.

    Feyenoord haalt Colombiaanse aanvaller Sinisterra

  19. Pictures of those responsible for the insulting banner should and must be used to ban these scum from the Feyenoord stands for the maximum number of years, and if possible also those participating in the insulting singing. Plus these fvcking morons should be forced to listen to relatives of people in the same condition as Nouri about the pain it has caused. But personally I would like to wield a baseball bat at them.
