Foto: ANP De meeste mensen keken thuis voor de buis vooral naar de blije hoofden van de Feyenoorders, maar Martijn van Zon hield op zondag 14 mei zijn ogen continu op de zilveren schaal gericht. Al snel ontdekte de maker van de trofee dat het goed mis ging tijdens het feestgedruis in De Kuip: de gouden details lieten los! Om het 60-jarige bestaan van Eredivisie te vieren besloot de KNVB vorig seizoen de kampioensschaal te versieren met gouden letters en het gouden logo van de voetbalbond. Maar toen de spelers van Feyenoord met hun prijs over het veld renden, viel de ene na de andere versiering op het veld. „Ik dacht: oh jee, die zijn niet goed vastgemaakt”, aldus Van Zon van tingieterij ’t Oude Ambacht uit Alphen, het bedrijf dat al tientallen jaren de KNVB-prijzen vervaardigt. „Mijn vrienden en collega’s zijn ook voetballiefhebbers, dus die zagen hetzelfde wat ik zag en stuurden mij talloze berichtjes via WhatsApp.” Uitbundig Waren de gouden letters juist té goed vastgemaakt? „We hebben eerst de vorm van de letters in de schaal gefreesd en daar de letters – voorzien van een laagje 24-karaats bladgoud – in geplakt. Blijkbaar zaten ze er net iets te strak in en kwam er te veel spanning op te staan. De schaal krijgt veel te verduren tijdens zo’n uitbundig feest. Er wordt mee gegooid en spelers knallen er met hun knieën en ellebogen tegenaan. Maar het viel me natuurlijk wel tegen dat de gouden letters niet vast bleven zitten.” Toen iedereen het veld af was, ging het grasteam van Feyenoord met een magneet over het veld om te kijken of er nog gouden overblijfselen te vinden waren. Hier en daar werd iets gevonden, maar lang niet alles werd opgespoord om de schaal weer compleet te maken. „Kort na de wedstrijd is er een grasmaaier over het veld gereden en ik heb me laten vertellen dat die waarschijnlijk het nodige goud heeft verpulverd”, aldus Feyenoord-woordvoerder Raymond Salomon. Opfrisbeurt Met de KNVB werd afgesproken dat de schaal zo snel mogelijk terug naar ’t Oude Ambacht zou worden gebracht voor een opfrisbeurt. Een dag na het veroveren van de titel werd de schaal opnieuw onder handen genomen door Van Zon. Op datzelfde moment vierde de selectie van de kersverse kampioen op de Coolsingel opnieuw feest met de supporters. Met een reserveschaal die met nepgoud was versierd. Foto: ANP Het was de schaal die een dag eerder aanwezig was in het stadion van Willem II voor het geval Ajax daar kampioen zou worden. Dus stonden de Rotterdammers met de prijs te zwaaien die voor de aartsrivaal was bedoeld als het in De Kuip mis was gegaan voor Feyenoord. Van Zon noemt geen bedragen, maar voor ’t Oude Ambacht is het een dure grap geworden. Je hoeft geen rekenwonder te zijn om te bedenken dat een schaal met 24-karaats bladgoud duurder is om te maken dan een schaal die alleen uit tin bestaat. Laat staan als er voor de tweede keer goud op moet worden aangebracht. Schuld „De KNVB was niet teleurgesteld of boos, want wij hebben het netjes opgelost”, aldus de schalenmaker. „Het was onze schuld, dus wij hebben alles voor onze rekening genomen. Ik wil het geen smetje op de schaal van het seizoen 2016/2017 noemen. We hebben weer iets geleerd.” Feyenoord kreeg de gerepareerde schaal nog dezelfde week terug, zodat de prijzenkast met de originele trofee kon worden aangevuld. En er moest na achttien kampioensloze jaren uiteraard mee gepronkt worden. Negentien keer werd de ‘Heilige Graal’ uit de vitrine van het Maasgebouw gehaald om goede sier te maken tijdens een evenement, waarna hij een definitieve plek kreeg in het Feyenoord Museum. Denk aan bijeenkomsten van de Dirk Kuyt Foundation, Feyenoord Soccer Schools en de eerste oefenwedstrijd van het seizoen tegen FC Lisse. Na elk uitje werd de schaal weer netjes opgepoetst. Gerust Van Zon maakte zich geen zorgen dat er tijdens de snoepreisjes van de schaal wederom problemen zouden ontstaan. „Mensen gingen vooral op de foto met de schaal, er werd niet meer mee gegooid…” De schaal die aan het eind van het huidige seizoen wordt uitgereikt heeft Van Zon al af. Tegenwoordig maakt hij de prijs voor de landskampioen al aan het begin van het seizoen, zodat de KNVB bij de hoofdingang in een vitrine kan laten zien waar het in een seizoen om draait. Het is een schaal van tin en een klein beetje koper. Goud komt er niet meer aan te pas. „Dat was eenmalig vanwege het 60-jarig bestaan van de Eredivisie. Als opdracht was het leuk om een keer te doen, maar ik ben een echte liefhebber van tin dus ik vind een schaal die helemaal zilver is mooier.” Bovendien scheelt het een hoop ellende met bladgoud. This was an unacceptable performance. We didnot loose, we gave the points away. Of course there was the injury infested back line. But this Ajax is so pathetic that it's an insult to the fans to give them the points like we did today. The constant "postbode mode" (=bringing the ball with long walks instead of passing it fast) is waking up a rage in me to use a whip. Even more unacceptable was the referee's performance. Twice KJ Huntelaar should have been red carded. After the first time he wouldnot have been able to score the goal. The second time the ref blatently falsified the rules the falling over of Ajax would have been assured. 85652

The match for a viewer with no attachements to either team would have been an eye sore, especially the first half. Players doing unnecesary stuff, making faulty passes, making wrong decisions. This was one of the lowest quality Klassieker matches in decades.
I am a Moderator, it's my job to be decent!! I thought that all the Feyenoord players were quite poor. We always worry about clubs that are still in Europe having a poor match following an CL or EL game. Maybe that was part of it. Certainly the makeshift back line did not help things. That being said the Feyenoord MF and front line players were almost totally missing in action. The only scoring chances aside from the PK came from free kicks and Onana was on his game, saving two very fine shots. Ajax won almost all the contested balls in the MF which was a huge surprise for me. I feel bad for Haps, he's going to be having nightmares about Neres for quite a while. Neither Huntelaar had to the head was a Red card offense and if you look at the 2nd one which was a correct no-call, the Feyenoord player put his head into the elbow rather than it being the other way around. It's like the no-call on hand balls when a ball is kicked hard into a players hand where it's not the hand to the ball as the rules call for. This match called for a top performance from your players and that was not what van Bronckhorst got.
I was talking about the second yellow card he twice should have been given for pulling back a player. The ref twice whistled for the foul but twice refused to give the 2nd yellow card. The things you mention were to me just battles for the ball, not fouls to me.
By the way, Orange14, you talk about the Feyenoord players being bad, but the Ajax players did match that almost completely, except for a few moments from Neres. Both teams were just abominal bad. Both teams should be punished with extra training on their free time. It was just disgusting bad.
Funny was on the nos tv the interview with the two little kids of former Feyenoord player Ruben Schaken on the pitch. One is playing in the Feyenoord academy, the other in the 020 academy. They both are very clear about their preference of the club.

Looking at the highlights of the cupfight against the Amsterdam amateurs the stress on the faces of certain players was very obvious. Amrabat's face was telling in that respect. Playing for a club like Feyenoord suddenly shows to be totally different from playing for a "subtopper" like Utrecht. And it doesnot change if the opponent is an amateur club. You feel the pressure no matter what. To be toughened you need to go through the fire and hammered to become steel. The heat has been metal melting these past few weeks. I read today van Hanegem agrees with me Brad Jones needs to be replaced by Vermeer. He's not so thrilled by my suggestion to move Karim a line back to the CD position as a temporary solution. He thinks Gio lets Karim hang back to far into/close to the defense, so he has to run too much to cover the midfield. In other words he thinks Karim has to be more upwards to profit from his qualities. When we have a decent back line, yes. But now we have to put in experience in the back line to stabilize it and someone else should take the Karim role in the midfield. Toornstra really needs to get his act together, as his curve is dropping. Cannot be that he suddenly cannot play football anymore. Reboot your brain, man.
