    Feyenoord 0-0 Dynamo Kyiv at the half

    Both sides had good chances but the goalkeepers have stopped all.

    Feyenoord has no fire power--they get a 2 mon break on the keeper and manage to mess it up

    Feyenoord 0-1 Dynamo Kyiy (1-3 aggregate)

    Feyenoord pressed hard late in the second and Dynamo stole a goal at minute 96. Europa League, here we come.

    One goal in three matches (Mallorca included) does not bode well for European action. Perhaps the Europa League is a better place for the youngsters to get experience than the CL. Actually, Dynamo Kyiy still has one more qualifying round to get through before CL group stage. They were better than us, but don't appear to be as good as in the Shevchenko days.

    What? o_O. Feyenoord was much better. Feyenoord was also better in the first 60 minutes in Kiev. So over 150 minutes of 180 Feyenoord has been better. Based on field play Feyenoord deserved to advance today. Also based on created chances in this game (not the previous).

    However the game is to put it in the net and Feyenoord failed in this respect.

    Yeah, Feyenoord played better in this match but Kyiy played smarter. They knew what they had to do to go through and they did it. We had lots of shots again, but few on target. If we had gotten an early goal, then you would have seen a more active Dynamo side.

    And then Feyenoord can play their game, with all the speed of Schaken, Cisse, Cabral and a distributing Clasie who is excellent in direct passing after recuperation of the ball. Call it smart from Kiev, but they went to the ground after the game and I bet they feel very relieved.

    Dispite the loss, we were the better team. We were the better time for over 60mins in Kiev aswell. Considering our recent years and financial restrictions im very proud on how well we played.
    Now we have to focus on the Eredivisie again, keep developing and getting the last pieces of the puzzle right.

    Not scoring for a 2 vs keeper situation is the best example for the weakness of this team. . We lack calmness in the forward team. Our forwards need to feel pressure and have defenders infront of them it seems, they dont know what to do when they have too much time or space. Fortunatly our midfield puts in so much effort for the defensive cause, we are a tough nut to crack too.
    Cant wait for Singh, Elabd

    Can't fault the team, just Koeman for investing what little money Feyenoord had in Immers instead of a half decent striker.

    Well, they still get to fight for a spot in the EL. Unfortunately they probably won't be seeded in the draw.

    I liked Singh and De Vrij

  16. Yep, me too!!
    This result was a bummer and an undeserved one too...but soccer is not a jury sport, so we have to blame ourselves for not scoring, although that goalie was awesome too.
    What stays is that Feyenoord has its axis in order, except the scoring has to improve. So from what I've seen sofar of the top 6 teams Feyenoord impressed the most and that against an opponent with players of a quality that is rare or non existent in the Eredivisie.
    The only thing I didnot understand was why Acha boy wasnot in the selection. I'd loved to see what he would have done with that chance one on one with the goalie.

    Wasn't final yet. Mathijsen has now said he signs and he is medical checked. I believe mathijsen previously said that the salary had to match his status, so we know from the past years things like that can make it go wrong.

    ^ It's still a very dicey signing from a team that is just getting out of financial trouble. Even odds that Joris doesn't play in 1/2 the matches this season.

    Agree. Mathijsen could be injured a lot. No problem for me though. I would like Feyenoord to develop BMI and de Vrij. Behind those 2 there is still Terence Kongolo. :thumbsup:

    And Kaj Ramsteijn. He is actually a CB, I think, and was used as left back for a while before the injury. What is Ramsteijn's status; do you know? Seems like he was close to a return this summer.

    Utrecht 0-1 Feyenoord, at the half.

    Cisse headed in a goal, off a Schaken cross, at minute 39 for the lead. Starting lineup:

    Mulder;
    Janmaat, De Vrij, Martins-Indi, Nelom;
    Vormer, Clasie;
    Schaken, Immers, Cisse;
    Fernandez.

    Second half subs were Leerdam for Vormer, and Singh for Fernandez. Feyenoord win it 1-0.
