Never heard a sweeter sounding word than Feyenoord part 2

  1. Feyenoord reportedly has slammed a price tag of 15 - 20 million on Berghuis, if PSV wants to buy him.
Wonder why PSV is after him since Ajax has bought Promes instead of Bergwijn. I donot think Ajax wants to pay the hefty price PSV wants for a spot they already plugged with a top quality player.

  2. Renato Tapia reached the final of the Copa America with Peru after defeating Chile.
    Kudos to Renato. Success:thumbsup:

  3. After Nick Marsman, back up goalie, Luciano Narsingh (assuming the med test is fine) is the 2nd new comer.
Was already getting worried that the traditional Helicopter flight would be empty.:D

I saw some news that has Leroy Fer joining Feyenoord at their training camp in Austria. He is trying to get back into playing shape following his latest injury. No contractual agreement at this time, but ...

  5. There's no talk according to Feyenoord and Fer. I guess Fer waits for an offer from a club that can pay more than Feyenoord can offer. If that doesnot come talks could start. Personally I'm not so fond of free riders like Fer. He forced his way out of Feyenoord to FC Twente and now he's using us to get fit for a contract with another club.

    Fvck him.

Narsingh was a surprise signing in my opinion. they had so much talent in the reverses including summerville and toure.

    Feyenoord strikt Kelly van Reading

De transfer van Liam Kelly is in kannen en kruiken. De Ierse middenvelder heeft zich voor twee jaar verbonden aan Feyenoord, tot medio 2021.

Feyenoord signed Kelly with a two years contract. He played under Stam at Reading.

DUTCH GIANTS FEYENOORD have announced the signing of former Republic of Ireland U21 international Liam Kelly on a two-year contract.

Kelly makes the move to Rotterdam from English Championship club Reading, where he had been on the books since the age of eight.

At Feyenoord, the 15-time Eredivisie winners, Kelly is reunited with Jaap Stam, who he also played under at Reading.

“Liam is a technically sophisticated player with a lot of potential, someone who fits well with the way we want to play football,” said Stam, who succeeded Giovanni van Bronckhorst as Feyenoord boss in March.

A 23-year-old creative midfielder, Kelly was born in England but — via his Irish grandparents — he has represented the Republic of Ireland up to U21 level.

However, doubts over his international allegiance grew in March 2018 when former Ireland manager Martin O’Neill claimed that Kelly had declined a call-up for a senior international friendly against Turkey in the hope of being capped by England instead.

Kelly later contradicted O’Neill’s version of events, telling the Reading Chronicle: “It had nothing to do with feeling English or Irish, it was a personal thing between me and my family which we thought was best. There are no ifs and buts about it, it was just how I was feeling at the time.”

In their press release announcing his arrival, Feyenoord refer to Kelly as the first Irishman to join the club since David Connolly represented them between 1997 and 2001.

Kelly made 94 first-team appearances for Reading, scoring nine goals and contributing nine assists.

Feyenoord finished in third place in the Dutch top flight last season, which will see them enter the Europa League at the third qualifying round.

Something is wrong with this sentence (hint, hint).

  12. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ring-sensation-Mipo-Odubeko-new-contract.html
Manchester United have lost teenage goalscoring sensation Mipo Odubeko after the youngster turned down a new contract.

The 16-year-old scored 35 goals for United's academy last season and was viewed as one of the club's hottest prospects.

But the Republic of Ireland Under-17 international's contract expired at the end of June and he has now rejected the offer of an extension - believing his development is better served away from United.
He has now left the club, sparking a frantic scramble for his signature.

Odubeko's decision to leave has alerted clubs across the continent.

Feyenoord, Bayern Munich and Genoa are ready to move in the race to land Odubeko - with the growing likelihood that the teenager will move abroad.

Newcastle and Burnley are among the sides in England to have a concrete interest in the youngster
    .

I'm not sure if this is a good idea.

Well, it's a good idea for him to leave United, if that's what you mean. Hahaha.

But you probably were questioning whether or not it is a good idea for Feyenoord to put in a bid for him. I might agree with that.

  14. Another change in the Feyenoord office management.
General manager de Jong has left after a disagreement about the course of the club to the future with the Board of overseers.
Feyenoord faces a number of decisions to be made and he couldnot go along with

  15. The dispute de Jong had was about the speed of changes.
De Jong opted for a gradual approach, while rich shareholders want full speed.
He also publicly declared he only would consider the new stadium if it is financially sound for Feyenoord. De jong was very cautious about taking financial risks.
It might mean he wasnot so keen on outsider (read foreign) investors.

  16. I'm getting worried about the reasons of the what now turns out to be the sacking of de Jong.
The businessmen in the Board of Overseers and the shareholders appear to be eager to take risks in order to close the gap with PSV and Ajax.
De Jong opted for a more cautious track and he expressed that in a letter to the Board!

Feyenoord, zo vond De Jong, moest vooral Feyenoord blijven
    ."

"A letter for the four-member supervisory board changed a lot in De Kuip. The sender was Jan de Jong, who was still CEO of Feyenoord until Wednesday afternoon. The 52-year-old from The Hague wanted to clarify a few things in writing last week.

De Jong fervently argued for an at arms length supervisory board instead of a course-setting board. He understood that Feyenoord wanted to narrow the gap with PSV and Ajax, but according to the director that was only possible in a gradual way. The relatively small and sometimes even faulty organization as it is now in De Kuip could not carry out such an attack at all. And if the supervisory board were actually open in the future to large (possibly even foreign) investors, possibly even shareholders, then they did not have to count on De Jong's approval. Feyenoord, according to De Jong, should remain Feyenoord in its core
    ."

I'm getting flash backs to the situation of the time we nearly went bust, because of ambition fueled investments in precisely a wacky internal organisation running the show.
Running a football club successfully is something different from a business. Ajax and PSV prove that with their internal organisations being geared to generate success. There are no groups of business men running the show there.
Hell, the last two times we were nearly broke it was because of the businessmen making stupid decisions.

Ajax were struggling about 10 years ago in the same manner though they never faced the same financial difficulties that Feyenoord did.

"Yet there was also a limit for De Jong. He did not want to follow the course of the supervisory board, with the successful businessmen Toon van Bodegom and Herman van Drie. Whether that is the right decision, only the future will tell . Van Bodegom and Van Drie and in their wake Pim Blokland, Boudewijn Poelmann, Ronald Brus, Hans Vervat and Marcel van Gelderen, all influential Friends of Feyenoord, earned their assets by occasionally taking risks and striking at the right moment. They saw that as the only way to keep up with Ajax and PSV."

  19. Oh dear.
The conflict between the Board of Supervisors (read Toon van Bodegom) and de Jong was about American investors.
De Jong welcomes investors but doesnot want to give them power to be part of the decision makers within Feyenoord. Toon on the other hand (and according to insiders the other 3 members of the Board too) are willing to give them a say in who becomes coach at Feyenoord and how the buy and sell policy will look like.

De Jong is right. It's giving the heart of the club to outsiders. Fvck these imbecils. It smells alot like the situation FC Twente got themselves in.
The Americans want a say in everything.
They also want to participate in the new stadium.
This all is alarming. It sounds alot like in the HCS period.
When things donot turn out as intended, which is a very likely situation given the two times it in the last 30 years went wrong= close to bankruptcy, Feyenoord then are prey for the Yanks as they then can demand total control for saving Feyenoord.
Feck these blind ambition idiots. Better 5 years longer 3d fiddle than in 5 years bankrupt.

    117882

  20. I wonder if this set up with influencing footballing decisions of the Feyenoord mamagement isnot the same as Twente got punished for.
The KNVB has no control over these outsider guys, so if these are the ones that pull the strings Feyenoord can get in real trouble.
I think the KNVB should make a call to Loony Toon to come to Zeist and make clear how the decision making stays a responsibility of the management that has to obey KNVB rules.
This set up is in my eyes unacceptable.
And about what amount of money are we talking to sell your clubs soul for?
We've got a bunch of multi millionairs of which at least one is a billionair, congregated in the "Vrienden van Feyenoord". I guess Toon is one of them too.
So why are they willing to sell the soul of the club for a couple of millions (100?) they can poney up with the 40 of them easily? Too risky?
If so, it's a bloody shame to gamble then with Feyenoord's future by letting in some Yanks.
If you with 40 millionairs arenot willing to take the risk yourself, than bloody donot risk Feyenoord in the first place.

The experiences of American owners in the EPL is not a good one. The only real good story is the group that own Liverpool (they also own the Boston Red Sox of American baseball). They are solid businessmen who know how to run sports teams. they are not siphoning off money like the Glazers at ManU or not giving good guidance like the Kroenke's of Arsenal.

  22. Pierre van Hooijdonk blabbering completely nonsense.
Take over of Feyenoord isnot a choice, it's a bitter necesity, he shits.
First of all, the Eredivisie isnot the epl in which each club only in tv revenues earns more than twice what we make each year in total with Feyenoord.
Feyenoord doesnot make money, so investors have alterior motives to be involved. As these are Yanks, they for sure have an idea to siphon off money from Feyenoord to the detriment of the club.
Remember the very rosy income projections of the to be built stadium only get us level, if it is realised, to PSV and Ajax in budget, and everything has to align in perfection to get that. There's no money in that for big transfers etc. So where does the compensation for those unknown amount of millions then come from?
Idiots like van Hooijdonk really seem to think the only problem Feyenoord has is an empty treasure chest. If that gets filled, glory days are there.
Yeah, right. The last two times we went on a spending spree it also was with the idea that success just was waiting around the corner to be bought.
We fecking went almost bankrupt twice because of that.
Our problem isnot money. Our problem is a constant failure in the organisation of the club. We donot generate money because of the organisation fails to be adequate professional. Because this failed organisation the times we spent money it also was with incompetence, thus leading to those two almost bankruptcies.
Thinking this money injection is going to help while the same old guard as a 5th colomn influences the club is beyond stupid, it's insane.
First thing to do is a professionalisation and a sweeping clean of the whole club structure.
When that's done it's time to think about a new stadium.
When that all stabilised, you can think about investing.
We've been wasting decades with coincidental titles.
So, Toon van Bodegom. What's the bloody hurry? The same problems are around, but let's put on top of that the same stupid decision we did twice already.
