Although I know you're joking, it's not nepotism at all. George Weah has never played or coached for the US, so his son most likely would not have been the beneficiary of any nepotism.
If young Lassiter ever wins the Golden Boot, and then gets cut from our national team, there will be Nepotism IV ....
Thought he was playing for CR? Would be crazy if arguably 2 of the 3 best pure strikers of the 90s (Fat Ronaldo being the other--I guess my master plan to have Mia Hamm or Brandy Chastain infiltrate one of his coke and hookers parties and "forget" protection never panned out) had kids that ended up playing for a third country's national team together.
Mia Hamm and Nomar should have made a good soccer player by now. Did they have any boys? Edit: they have a five year old.
Sure...and I got an internship with Merrill Lynch cause I was the best candidate. Or perhaps my Dad had pull at Merrill Lynch? (makes more sense) Perhaps George Weah has pull at PSG? duh. Either way, George Weah and his son (and my Dad) are cool with me. USA! USA!
by the way. How can UC Berkeley's second string keeper parlay sitting on an NCAA bench into a USA u-20 World Cup start (starts?) and an appearance on Hertha's bench? nepotism. hello? duh.
Hasn't Hertha Berlin had a bunch of injuries at goalkeeper this season? Also, Bundesliga teams often carry younger or more inexpensive, less talented players as their third keeper, since those players rarely are called upon to play. That said, I still think Jonathan Klinsmann is doing well for himself - after watching him with the U-20s, I wasn't convinced he had much of a pro career ahead of him. We'll see how he continues to develop.
The daily sprinkling of Euro fairy dust will make him the greatest US keeper ever! As long as he shaves his head.
Zidane got one of the biggest coaching jobs in the world, and weren't like all four of his kids in the Real Academy at one point?
call me when his kids are in the starting 11 and taking spots away from much better players in the champions league.
