The Fire should just rebrand themselves as the Washington Diplomats if Nelson is involved. He’s a professional loser. Owners hire him to sound sincere while he lies through his teeth. Unrelated to topic, but if anyone has an ESPN + account can you hit me up on private message? I got a question
2,416 less than the next worse average. probably a lot more considering the BS numbers we have been reporting. We went from 17,383 in 2017 to 14,806 in 2018 (-2,577) to 11,231 this year (-3,605). Great job Nelson......
As you said, and these are the pumped up numbers...presumably based on the number of tickets dumped into the secondary market or given away. For those who've actually borne witness to this shyte show, by what per cent would you estimate these made-up numbers exaggerate the actual butts in seats? 25%? 33%? More?
this is a pretty damming chart. i get it is an old boys club, but how the heck do the other owners look at this and not tell hauptman to GTFO immediately?
My best guess is that it's because it hasn't...yet...affected the upward trend on the buy-in price for new markets. "Ya know, yer aksin' me to pony up $200 mil for the right to have a team in Vegas, while ya gots that turd smack in the middle of the country...tells ya what. Been talkin' with dese udder boys, and ain't nobody gonna offer more'n, say, $100 mil goin' forward". Next day, reports of a problem with Hauptman's brake pads surface.
You can look at Vancouver and see 10%-20% are give aways. The company that runs the stadium has to report gate attendance.
Saw the Washington Diplomats play the Sting at Wrigley Field as a mere yut. At the time, I had no idea who Johan Cruyff was. I did wonder why the attendance was so high. I was a just hoping for a Sting win.

"Never Forget" so a quick reminder from when Nelson 'shady' Rodriguez was hired. Rodriguez puts faith in Hauptman, sets out to rebuild Chicago Fire https://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/10/23/nelson-rodriguez-chicago-fire-mls-andrew-hauptman Are we allowed to sue a magazine for false advertising if their headline is clearly fraudulent? Some choice quotes: “We have the resources at this club to build the program that we think will lead us back to the glory that we experienced,” Rodriguez said. Ummm? We're waiting, Nelson. “It kills Andrew, eats away at him, that the team hasn’t had on-field success. He’s hurt by it. I dare say he’s embarrassed by it." We don't want him "killed," we just want him to go away. He can go to a farm in Wisconsin to run free with the other former MLS owners. "No person who cares as much isn’t affected by that, and he does care … I think Andrew is misunderstood. Maybe his humility has worked against him because he hasn’t come front and center." Ah, so THAT'S it. Andrew Hauptman is just bashful! Isn't that precious. "I know from my time at the league office and am quite certain based on the conversations we’ve had, that he’s committed to building a model club in MLS and winning is a big part of it.” 12 years on and we have seen no evidence of this. “I have very definitive ideas in mind of how to proceed. That said, I want a head coach who’s going to be my partner, who’s going to pressure test what I say and vice versa." He wanted a "soul mate" and he found one, to our collective detriment. “When we look at the strengths of the head coach and I balance that against my strengths, we’ll look to see where the gaps are and how we may seek to cover them,” he said. “I’m opened minded to seek the best people first, put them in the right spots and see how it works, then fill in the gaps.” He is "open minded to seek the best people first..." but ended up Veljko f'n Paunovic. I guess that seeking the best people didn't work out very well.
https://theathletic.com/1113795/201...lla-named-chicago-fire-chief-culture-officer/ What the hell is a "Chief Culture Officer"?
Could this be the next Fire coach? He certainly has a good coaching record at some pretty good colleges. "and is selling Amway-produced health and wellness products." Well, he could also be N-Rod's local Amway distributer.
I'm not cool with anything related to Amway, or the DeVos family, but I did have this to say about Lolla 5 years ago: Notre Dame/Harry Shipp replay on ESPN now!
Boy George probably knows more about football and running a team than Nelson 'shady' Rodriguez. If I had even an iota of photoshop, I would photoshop Rodriguez' face onto Boy George circa Karma Chameleon.
