Exactly. I think an ACC team would have made it through the USC quadrant. That was by far the easiest of the four quadrants. Not surprised to see Florida and USC as the last ones standing there.
Really? Florida beat Stanford this year. South Carolina beat Clemson and Notre Dame (their only loss coming to Wake Forest). You perhaps underestimate those two SEC teams.
Having watched most of the teams play this year Stanford is the team to beat. Duke might be able to hang with them. Only weakness is in Goal and if you watch the game vs Florida you will see why Stanford lost that game at Florida
The ACC is by far the best conference from top to bottom, then the PAC 12 and then SEC. The top 4 teams in the SEC can play with any of the teams in the ACC. The top teams that were seeded 1 thru 4 were deserved to be in top 4. Stanford and Duke are the top 2 teams in the country and the only way you do not see these 2 teams in final is a situation where they out shoot the team but do not find the back of net.
I can only based this based on the teams I have seen play. Stanford is loaded with talent. Lets just be honest.
Stanford is loaded, but Penn State seems to have something magical going for them all of a sudden here late in the year. I could easily see a game in which Stanford out-shoots Penn State at least 2-to-1 (if not 3-to-1), and Penn State winning the game in the clutch. Stanford may win this game by multiple goals. But if this game is tied entering the later minutes (and the overtimes) .... I think Penn State has the fortitude and mental toughness to get it done. I'm not sure Stanford can match that, if facing that level of adversity.
Philly is the 35th largest port by tonnage. If you included Paulsboro NJ , across the river, the port is in the top 20. Interestingly, Pittsburg is 23rd. Duluth, st Louis, and Huntington WVA Are larger than both.
Nope, you're right. I'm from PA, so I should know better, but we always thought of ourselves as a coastal state. And we weren't. Sad!
Stanford is dismantling PSU. SU is now up 4-0 in the 24th minute of the 1st half. That's a wrap folks; I can't see PSU coming back from this deficit. I knew our defense was leaky this year. Oh well, good luck to the remaining teams.
It's the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup Final all over again. 3-0 Stanford They are blowing their load in this match. Could it come back to haunt them in the College Cup?
Baylor hanging in there against Duke so far. If you're Duke, you want to put away this team in the 1st half. You don't want them hanging around, only down a goal, for too long.
The Big Ten regular season version of Penn State (who did not win their conference) is the team that showed up today. Not the team who won the Big Ten tournament, and slaughtered West Virginia on the road last weekend. Stanford brought their "A" Game. End Result = Embarrassing loss. Penn State had a chance in this game. They didn't play their game today.
See ya Baylor. You did a lot of talking, you were able to do some walking (in your own state). But you can't go to an ACC powerhouse and expect to win this huge of a game.
I blame the way Penn State played this year on the coach. She changed from a defense fist mentality to an attacking mentality this year. It wasn't working earlier and isn't working now. She should have stuck to the formula that got them the 2015 natty.
Well thank goodness they didn’t end any of our player’s seasons! Lot of fouls, but nothing major. 4-0 Duke. So happy
It doesn't help when a sub gets two yellows in 20 minutes and your playing a man, and 1-nil, down before the end of the first half. The game wasn't worth watching after that--unless you are a Duke fan!
