    Its too bad no ACC teams where in the USCe quadrant. I was shocked to see UNC go down, the shots were overwhelmingly in their favor. As for the Noles, not sure many thought they would beat Stanford, but they played valiantly especially Cassie Miller.

    13 of the last 24 teams to make the College Cup were ACC teams.
    That's over 50%.

    ACC = 13 teams
    Rest of Nation = 11 teams

    wow...pause vid at pass (16th sec) and it looks like she may be off, but whats more is where the AR is positioned (at least 3-5 yards in front of the line). at the end of the day it was a great ball and a gteat finish. Congrats to UCLA

    Penn State and Pennsylvania? With 50 or 60 miles of coastline along the Delaware Estuary and another 50 or so along Lake Erie I guess Pennsylvania could technically be considered a coastal state. In reality, though, it's nothing like a coastal state.

    When I saw a replay of the UCLA/Sanchez goal last night, it looked like she was half a step off-side--and it still looks that way, but one can't say with confidence given the camera angle. And let's face it, linesmen get offside calls wrong all the time--it is a tough job, and how often are they right where they need to be to make the call? No one can say that it wasn't a deserved win for the Bruins, however. They were clearly the better and more threatening team throughout.

    Anyone know...are yellow cards accumulating through the Elite 8, and start again for the Final Four and the Final, or throughout the tournament, or...?

    Agree the result was deserved. UVA don't have enough offensive power. Next year they are signing 3 YNT attacking players. Time will tell if they make a difference. Of interest their one u17 YNT WC player had relatively little impact when compared to Torres, who by the end of the season was the focus of their attack. Torres was left off the final roster in favor of bringing up a few 14 year olds.

    To my knowledge there is no accumulation. Obviously a red suspends the next game

    12.11.2 Postseason Games. Caution accumulation will carry over into postseason play, which includes conference tournaments and the NCAA tournament. Players or coaches participating in postseason play will receive a one-game suspension when a total of eight cautions have been accumulated. Further, each three additional cautions shall result in additional one-game suspensions....

    With the Thug-Ball style that Baylor so proudly fosters, it would be interesting to check the yellow card accumulation of their players. If any of them are nearing 8 yellow cards for the 2017 season, they would need to (hopefully) tone down the elbow throwing, pulling, etc.

    Unfortunately, I suspect that the officials in the Big 12 conference are more tolerant of this style, as....well, they probably get tired of stopping play every 30 seconds and tired of hearing those wonderfully mannered and soccer intelligent parents in the stands.

    Its funny that earlier on this thread, people were bashing the SEC as over rated with so many teams falling early. Now that pendulum has swung and people are fingering the ACC as over rated with only one team making the elite 8. SEC has 2.

    None of this matters to me, I only want to see good games.

    So far Duke and Penn State has been impressive to me. I know Stanford is the top dog and they probably are the odds on favorite but Duke though look pretty legit as a championship team. Impressed with them.

    UCLA is just too young in my opinion to win it this year, though they could prove me wrong. But they have 20 underclassmen, its a really young roster they have.

    Looking up Baylor's stats is interesting;

    Baylor is the 1st (or Worst) of all NCAA Div 1 teams for most fouls with 308 Fouls.
    Baylor has so far accumulated 26 Yellow Cards from 23 games played in 2017.

    They have 5 different players with 3 or more Yellow Cards:

    #, Player Initials, Reg. Conf. Play YC, Non-Conf & Tourn YC, Total YC

    #20_ 0 YC from reg Big 12 games, 6 YC from non conf/tourn, Total of 6 YC
    #77 _ 1 YC from reg Big 12 games, 3 YC from non conf/tourn, Total of 4 YC
    #5 _ 1 YC from reg Big 12 games, 2 YC from non conf/tourn, Total of 3 YC
    #2 _ 2 YC from reg Big 12 games, 1 YC from non conf/tourn, Total of 3 YC
    #22 _ 3 YC from reg Big 12 games, 0 YC from non conf/tourn, Total of 3 YC

    It seems that the officiating for regular Big 12 games is more tolerant of the local love for the physical game.

    Not all Big 12 teams play dirty -
    West Virginia has 3 Yellow cards, and 204 fouls
    Texas has 8 Yellow cards, and 166 fouls
