Most Rugby WC matches are played in the wee hours of Saturday and Sunday morning though so I'm not sure that's an excuse for not showing it. Not a single match is played over Sunday night/Monday morning.
https://www.nbcsports.com/tv-listings/full I guess they showed it overnight? (edit: they didn't) And it's back next week. Honestly I think people on this thread care more about it than NBC at this point They do seem to be promoting the fact that match highlights go to their YouTube channel now
Yeah, good point. How long will they be showing RWC matches in the wee-wee hours of Sundays or Mondays? Edit: I know see that Boca clarified that early Monday should never be a conflict. Still I'm curious about how many more weeks RWC matches will be happening in the early Sunday time slot.
No doubt about that! And it's been that way for several years now. I won't bore everyone to rehash all of the arguments for a nice 1-hour highlights package including all matches from the round, with original in-game commentary & crowd noises.
Here's the schedule https://www.nbcsports.com/rugby/rugby-world-cup And MOTD is back this coming weekend.
Can get that with the weekend review on Gold Or for free, here's 2 hours of extended highlights from every match. That's pretty excellent imo https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXEMPXZ3PY1gELBVHPWnEmwL281XTIblL
NBC's production wizards strike again! Sunday morning's PL MOTW show was Man City vs Spurs. Not from this weekend, not from last weekend but from 6 weekends ago. That makes exactly zero sense to me. On weekends while I am away traveling, then come back and use my DVR to catch up on what happened this weekend, I find this instead?? Edit: they redeemed themselves largely, by airing MOTD II Show Sunday at midnight. Phew!
Just noticed that on FuboTV, the English language Premier League matches are not on the 3 day on demand list. Only the Spanish language matches are.
Tomorrow there are six games. Of the four games at 10:00 A.M., only Liverpool vs. Leicester City is on TV. On Sunday there are four games, with three at 9:00 A.M. and one at 11:30 A.M. At 9:00 A.M., NBCSN will show Man City vs. Wolves, and CNBC will show Arsenal vs. Bournemouth. One big six club requires Gold, and that's Chelsea, who is at Southampton at 9:00 A.M. There are at least three Sunday games in weekends after Europa League games on Thursdays.
No Puli, No Chelsea My Spectrum guide also shows Che/Sou in that timeslot, but it appears NBC made a late change
Interesting, but I'm sticking to my team. I'm thankful that they opened up CNBC this morning for Arsenal-Bournemouth. Not exactly the hugest fixture, but maybe it was the historical reputation of how these 2 clubs play? Or the fact that we can still fill 60,000 seats from time to time.
One thing that's kind of interesting (probably only to me) is that Saints-Chelsea is the only televised 2pm match in the UK -- and it's the only one that's not on TV here.
Including today's game, 6 of 10 games are on TV. NBC will have games at 12:30 on Saturday and Sunday. It will be Burnley vs. Chelsea on Saturday and Liverpool vs. Tottenham on Sunday. The time difference is 1 hour less, so games that would normally be Sunday at 9:00 A.M. and 11:30 A.M. are at 10:00 A.M. and 12:30 P.M.
They're smart, good events for NBC to hold and super popular in person. But watching on TV? No thanks
The only sports pregame content I've liked in the past 5 years is when I caught some Sky Sports Monday Night football with Carragher and Neville breaking down game film intelligently. I've heard they've gone more the way of "Embrace Debate" in recent times, but I can't vouch for that. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm probably not in the normal bracket of viewers based on how pregame/midgame/postgame content is produced across everything and how I roll my eyes at all of it.
Cringe-worthy to watch on TV. Same w/ ESPN's College Gameday which is also hugely popular. These type of shows seem very choreographed to me, but might be fun to attend one.
That people would leave their house at 3am just for the chance to be seen on national TV is over my head, but to each their own.
If you mean the periodic on-location extravaganzas in NY, DC, Boston, Austin, etc... then I agree 100%. I find them embarrassing, almost like theme parks for kids, insulting people's sporting intelligence in some ways.
