I just heard that Bob Costas is stepping down as the host of their Olympics coverage. Hallelujah!! And Mike TiRico will take over. Who is by no means perfect, but a complete breath of fresh air compared to the cringe-worthy Costas.
Just noticed that Verizon FIOS has NBC Universo in HD on channel 775. Perhaps someone can verify if this is indeed a new add, and if so, you are hereby notified.
Watching GoalRush today for maybe the 2nd time. And enjoying it. Seems a good day to use it, with several games pretty tight affairs with home teams coming back from behind. (West Brom not being one of them!)
NBC commentary is ok, coverage is terrible. The Leicester-Hull game ends, but instead of switching to Burnley-Swansea, a tie game with minutes to play, NBC instead switches to the completely meaningless ending of W. Brom-Palace, Palace all-but having already secured a victory by two goals. Scenes of WBA and Palace players exchanging handshakes just as Swansea score their late-game winner.
I agree. But they always switch to the other televised game first because they use the same studio crew so it becomes easier to switch subsequently.
Thanks for spoiling things for me!!!!! (Joking, but you know there's someone out there who is probably thinking it.)
They should join the most compelling match still in progress, rather than trying to cycle through all of the remaining active games
I watched several EPL matches this weekend, and not one of them had an NBC commentating team. Were they given the weekend off, in advance of next week's long-hours "on tour" broadcasts??
Maybe getting ready for the on location blitz happening next weekend. Noticed that F1 in Bahrain will be on CNBC next weekend.
Where Is Arlo White This Week? - Week #32 - Saturday, April 8 - Monday, April 10. Arlo White/Lee Dixon - Bournemouth vs Chelsea - Vitality Stadium - Bournemouth, England - Saturday, April 8 - NBC - 12:30 pm ET. Didn't Arlo White/Lee Dixon do this match? (Due to circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to watch this match so I'm not sure if they were the commentators.) What other commentators are considered NBC only? Its just Arlo White/Lee Dixon and Graeme Le Saux right? Update - Usually Arlo White tweets a picture of the pitch etc from the commentary booth of the match he does commentary for. None of yesterdays match on his twitter feed.
Next weekend, the crew from @NBCSportsSoccer is going on location to 🇬🇧! #PLonNBC pic.twitter.com/1INBTWjIZt— Premier League USA (@PLinUSA) April 9, 2017
No I think it was Jon Champion. Arlo/Lee/Graeme seemed AWOL this weekend. No deputy Steve Bauer either.
I went to http://stream.nbcsports.com/premier-league/bournemouth-chelsea-watch-live and it was announced by Jon Champion and Kevin Kilbane.
Just tuned in the Live Extra channel #1 so as to see how Man City are getting on. It was totally blank/black, period. Anybody else have this problem?
That game did not show up on my cable system either - just the "There is no game scheduled...." caption that is usually present when the channel is idle. I assume the game was shown online
Yeah. I'd be pissed if I was a City supporter, the 4th best team in the league mind you. Plus it was an exciting game apparently. NBC, for all that they do well to have nearly 100% matches air live, they still have too many scheduling/guide screw-ups IMHO.
NBC must be totally bummed. Positions 1,2, 18, 19, 20 are all determined. The only "drama" left is for 3rd & 4th place. 10 simultaneous games broadcast on "Championship Sunday" is now looking like a waste of programming.
And the individual fixtures themselves are all incredibly dull. After Leicester's Haley's Comet of a 2016 title season, Premier League has reverted to boring form. Really poor season. Maybe Newcastle can bring back a little bit of life to the mid/lower pack. Brighton should be interesting to follow as well.
Watford is in 16th, but if they win both games, they could get up to 9th. They go to Chelsea and host Manchester City, so that will be hard.
The networks for #ChampionshipSunday have been set! Who will you be watching? #PLonNBC pic.twitter.com/qF4YSQpH5T— NBC Sports Soccer (@NBCSportsSoccer) May 16, 2017
Any word on whether they might do Goalrush on a Live Extra channel? And if so, might ARS-EVE be the primary match on Goalrush? Some Arsenal fans might like to watch this, in order to keep tabs on the LIV-MID match. It seems that the race between ARS & LIV for 4th place is the only thing truly up for grabs Sunday? And if that doesn't say it all!
