Just use Google translate to read their official site. Burns has played in all 4 matches of the season, polled man of the match in 2 of those.

So from memory Burns has now had 4 starts in 4 games, 2 goals, three MOTM performances and are now top of the table. Not bad TBH, from someone so many had written off. :D

His biggest problem was consistency. I don't think anyone doubted his ability. The first couple of matches in the 07/08 a-league season he was near the best player in the competition after that he faded out (mostly caused by injury and olyroos) until the champions league.

Lets see if he can put together a solid season before un-writing him off (writing him on?)

^I was more referring to those who claimed that Burns would sit on the bench for Kerkyra and get released by AEK, but I see what you mean. Too early at this point to judge whether he would succeed or fail at Greece.

I was not aware that he had been written off. As for 07-08 season the National coaches played a major role in his so called form slump by not selecting for Olympic team and we all seen what happened there after Nathan and Bruce were not selected.

I'm hoping he continues his good form, and gets a chance with AEK in Alpha Ethniki. It's all very well to succeed in lower divisions, but that needs to translate to success against quality opposition before I'm going to get excited.

    *cough* Max Vieri *cough*

LOL- did the object of your coughing fit even "succeed" in the lower levels of Italy though ;)

    That's arguable! :)

He did alright with Ancona in Serie B I think. He was pretty rubbish everywhere else though.

    Re: Nathan Burns at Kerkyra

His form slump was only part of the reason why many were quick to put him down. The problem stemmed from the fact that his move to Greece was not particularly well accepted in the first place, due to the typical Dutch fetish amongst many A-league fans who believed he should of stayed in the A-league or gone to the Netherlands. So when he failed to break into AEK's first team many posters particularly from the MV and TWG forum used the point as a weapon to attack Burn's character and predicted that he would return to the A-league with his tail between his legs. However like I said before with Burn's age any claims over his success or failure is still premature - which is why I disagree with them.

    - Kerkyra had a draw last night they now sit second on table
    - Burns played a full game, scored a goal, and is MOTM on an online poll
    - Revealed to TWG that he might return to AEK or extend is loan by Christmas

I'd like to see him return to AEK and fight for a place in the first team, if that's practical. He's better at Kerkyra playing than at AEK riding the pine though, so it depends on whether he'll get minutes there.

If he doesn't return to AEK relatively soon he may be in danger of being sold or released - non-EU roster spots are valuable and clubs don't like wasting them on loan players.

I would love to see Nemeth and Burns combining up front...they could make for a very good, mobile front pairing.

^ Can see him making the squad in place of others like Djite and Ruka if he can break into the AEK squad before WC.
