On KNBR the other day they actually mentioned the game, in the context of the 49ers, sort of, and that the 49ers are so bad, that going to see the other NY-SF game in the bay area on the same day could actually be the better option. The big yuck-yuck of course being that the Niners are so bad, you might even prefer watching soccer!!!
I'm still debating going. It's a long drive, parking will be a pain if I don't leave early (and I won't if I want to watch the early NFL games), and It was frigid at Kezar for the regular season finale. Plus, they have never won with me in attendance, and I cannot recall if they have even scored a goal.
SAVARESE, DOS SANTOS IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN AMONG NORTH AMERICA'S COACHES NASL coaching veterans are only two coaches in North America who have reached more than one League Final since 2013 SAN FRANCISCO’S MARC DOS SANTOS NAMED NASL COACH OF THE YEAR Deltas coach guides club to second-place finish in first NASL season With Montreal hiring Garde (not Nesta) and New England hiring Friedel (not Savarese), are we not going to see any of Savarese / Nesta / Dos Santos coaching in MLS next season? For a while there it was looking like all three could end up in MLS...
After what we've been through in San Jose , I think there is truth to this somewhat... NASL thinks American soccer is corrupt, and it's battling US Soccer for survival in court
I’d buy that if NASL hadn’t self inflicted ALL the damage that has killed it. Hell they helped set the D2 standards they now can’t meet.
SUNDAY, November 12 BeIN SPORTS NASL Championship San Francisco Deltas-New York Cosmos 8 pm. BeIN SPORTS en ESPANOL NASL Championship San Francisco Deltas-New York Cosmos 8 pm.
Watching the NASL Championship between the San Francisco Deltas and the New York Cosmos on beIN Sports HD now. The Kezar Stadium playing field (corner-flag to corner-flag) is horribly narrow , no doubt because of the track surrounding the field. The play on the field has understandably been congested thus far. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
It's too late, I already have it. It appears that the stands are pretty well populated, but the TV hasn't really shown the stands all that much yet. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
They finally pulled back the camera (during halftime) to briefly show the far-side Kezar Stadium stand. It looked pretty full. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Just got back from the game. The stands were reasonably full on both sides, but they refused to even open the south grandstand until the north grandstand (viewable on TV) was full. So, obviously the Deltas had their doubts beforehand. Announced crowd was a sellout of over 9k, which seemed about right. Saw Jimmy Conrad (getting his media credential) and spoke with Marvell Wynne on the concourse after the game.
