Well, there are no tickets available... Whether it’s actually sold out is a matter of some debate seeing as they were selling tickets are cut rate prices and issuing a bunch more for free to groups. Odds are very good they won’t have 10k in attendance any more than they have any other game this season.
Story of the Deltas existence right there. Everyone had something better to do or other plans in SF. No singling you out at this late hour mind you mjlee.
I should have realized that $5 tickets and free merchandise would be very popular! We instead went to the Nike missile site, which was incredibly educational (and alarming)
There was an abandoned Nike missile site near where I grew up in WA state. Some friends and I snuck into the place once and were able to open the doors leading underground, however, the government had flooded everything and we just saw steps disappearing into the inky depths....
Every American should go. This is the only Nike Missile site that has been turned into a National Park. During the Cold War, Americans were not told at the time, but the second generation Nike Hercules missiles were nuclear. They were designed to take out a whole fleet of 50 Russian bombers with one blast above SF. The Nike Missile was named after the God of Victory.
San Francisco Deltas were confirmed to be folding as early as September 1. North Carolina FC (numerous times) confirmed for USL.— Steve Hamlin (@stevehamlin19) October 31, 2017
And once again I say, “Told ya so!” Looks like they’ve lost Edmonton and North Carolina too to the CPL and USL respectively.
What does this article mean? I can’t understand what they’re saying... From @FrontRowSoccer Highlights of Tuesday's hearing of @naslofficial v @ussoccer lawsuit https://t.co/qCgisYtRja #NASL #USSoccer— Michael Lewis (@Soccerwriter) October 31, 2017
There’s not much else to understand. The judge is weighing the testimony and will render a decision by Fri. She seemed partially convinced to grant the injunction, but not entirely necessarily. NASL has made it clear win or lose on the injunction, fold or no, they’re going to continue the lawsuit. So USFL all over again...
Howler Magazine had a great podcast with Prof Bank, a UCLA law prof, on the case. I think it all comes down to whether NASL can prove there is a conspiracy between USSoccer and MLS. He didn’t seem to feel that was likely, but it was likely that nasl would make enough progress to have grounds for an appeal if they lose this round. On Dummy: @profbank analyzes today’s #NASL vs. #USSF hearing. The Soccer Bowl is set, the New York Cosmos will take on the San Francisco Deltas next Sunday at 5PM at Kezar Stadium in what will likely be the final match in the history of the modern NASL 927373803306360833 is not a valid tweet id
I'm not sure but it could be the first team to win in all and then fold. Wonder how many people will attend the Soccer Bowl at Kezar?
Nope. Not the first. I would have thought, Falvo, with your fervent interest in Bay Area soccer history, that you would at least have remembered the FC Gold Pride . They won the WPS championship in 2010, with Brazilian star Marta on their roster, and then folded. I was there for that Championship game in Hayward.
Well only 3800 attended the semis. They’ll be lucky to surpass their regular season ticket giveaway fueled high attendance for Soccer Bowl.
Is anyone here planning to go? NASL championship, last SF Deltas game ever, playing against the 'legendary' NY Cosmos brand, NY vs SF, likely the last NASL game ever... if they can't get fans out for that, well no wonder it's over. .@NYCosmos and @sfdeltas will play for the #NASL title on Sunday! #TheChampionship pic.twitter.com/nhCYc0hp98— NASL (@naslofficial) November 7, 2017
