Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Nam's overjoy at being called up to his first International duty.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Nam did ok last game. Like someone mentioned in the old thread, he did get knocked off the ball quite a bit and a couple times in his own half with not much cover where a better team than Lens could have made him pay, but he is still young. I hope he continues to get starting minutes. He played the full 90 last week. I wonder if the call up for the friendly tomorrow played a part in him coming off after 60 mins. FoxSoccer.tv feed sucks soccer balls, but for me its better than nothing. The most annoying part lately has been where their feed skips a few minutes back and then bounce forward. Did that a lot when I tried to watch the Bolton match live vs Wolves.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Same here... but again better than nothing Do you know if they are streaming MLS games? (btw NYRB might get Miro Klose!)
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 I'm not sure about the MLS games as I bought in around Oct or Nov with EPL games in mind. I usually don't follow MLS games on tv outside of my Chicago Fire, but I do know Fox Soccer Channel does get their share of MLS games during the season, so I don't see why they wouldn't. NY and LA have been the hot spots for name brand Euro players. Unfortunately not so much for my Fire; it is looking like a rebuilding year for 2011 and maybe beyond. The big name veterans have retired or moved on, and there has been no efforts to replace that veteran play. We don't even have a sponsor lined up yet.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 least you guys get Mexican Marquees hey JoeKamel where do you live in Chicago? I used to live up in Hoffman Estates 10 years ago, but unfortunately going to Soldier Field was too far for me since i was too young to drive. Although Im all about DC United, I have a soft spot for all Chicago teams: Fire, Bears, Blackhawks, Cubs.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Thats true. Blanco was an honest threat on goal from free kicks and was crafty with distribution. But before the Fire got Brian McBride, the rest of the front line and MF were for the most part younger, quicker guys that just didn't end up meshing well with Blanco's slow pace and tendency to get fouled (legit or not ). Castillo was non existent. The only stat he racked up was number of off sides. While we had McBride, we needed a Beckham or a Ki type player, someone who can whip in some pretty aerial crosses for McBride to get his head on. McBride was scoring goals even up until his final season with Fulham in the EPL, and even though he may have been on the last leg of his career, it isn't too hard to imagine that he would have had more goals to his name while with the Fire if we had a winger or CM that could get the ball to him in the air. I actually work in Elk Grove these days, so I know where Hoffman is. I'm sure I know at least a couple that went to HS there too back then. I live in Naperville and I loved it when the Fire played there while Soldier Field was being renovated. Good to hear you still follow the Chicago teams. It is kind of funny that you follow DC United now considering there was a bit of a rivalry between the two clubs during the early Golden Years of MLS, always running into each other in the playoffs and in US Open Cup matches. Both clubs aren't what they used to be these days, but at least from the outside looking in, it sounds like United will be on their way back up quicker than the Fire.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 i stayed in Chicago up until middle school, but a majority of my friends ended up going to high school there. the last game i went to at Soldier Field was when Piotr Nowak scored the only goal in a win against Miami Fusion. since I live/go to school near D.C., United was the team for me. Plus when I started going to the D.C. United games Nowak was the head coach so it gave me more a reason to support em. good to see a fellow Chi-Town'er on here

Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Same here. Didn't think any existed. I figured LA, NY, and Korea.
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 Nam TH with an assist immediately after LCY's assist!
Re: Nam Tae-Hee @ Valenciennes FC 2010-2011 [R] Part 2 I was watching both and they were staggered so that the assists came at the same time lol. Having said that, great game by Nam and solid sub appearance by Lee. Looks a bit off pace though.
