I don't think that's reflective of reality, rather a quirk in UEFA coefficients. Transfermarkt has the Austrian's League squad values as over 2 and a half times less on average. I don't think many people watching both leagues would assess the Austrian League is as good let alone better. I don't doubt that Austria Wien is better than NAC Breda was last year, but what does that do for Brown if the competition is the same or worse? You mentioned Wien will be competing in Europa qualifiers. But that's a small sample of games and we've seen it lead to nothing but disappointment a good majority of the time. Didn't do anything for Bjorn Johnsen at 3 clubs. Means nothing until you are in the group stage. But as always my main criteria would be him primarily playing the 6 in a respectable league, which the Austrian BL is. I'll presume he won't be though until I see it because for whatever reason it's never been tried w/ clubs in spite of him winning the CCAF u20 player of the tourney there.
I've noticed, because I do it ad nauseum, and you're consistent as well. You're enabling my behavior. Now I need someone to back my support of trying Novakovich at wing forward in spite of being 6'5 so I suggest that more. That has even less chance of actually happening.
Who you play with in training every day is as valuable, if not more, than who you play against on the weekends. Plus, I think there's a genuine benefit to playing for a good team with a winning culture. Playing for NAC last season had to do awful things to the confidence of every player there. As a general rule, for example, I'd much rather have a YA play at Sparta Prague or Copenhagen than Tondela or Goztepe, even if the latter two clubs are in better leagues.
Their Sportdirektor Ralf Muhr says there's a good chance Austria Wien land EPB to cover for their regular defender who's out with an ankle injury until late in the fall. Not sure I like the sound of that, it means once Schoissengeyr is back, Erik goes to the bench.
And even if Schoissengeyr takes longer to recover, EPB is 1) looking for another club after only half a season, and 2) the best interest Citeh can drum up is a half-season as injury cover in a lesser league than last season. At least Breda saw him as a guy who would compete for starter/rotator status.
If he plays well all bets are off. He's gotta show out.....as long as he plays well he will continue to develop and it will lead to new opportunities.
Eric Palmer-Brown to Austria Wien seems to be a done deal. Laola1 reporting: "An agreement was reached with all parties, final talks will be held in the next few days" https://www.laola1.at/de/red/fussba...rteidiger-kommt-und-das-sind-stoegers-plaene/
The Journeyman contines. At least he's enjoying the richer countries. If he gets loaned to a club in Slovenia, that's when it's all over.
Jeebus, is there a prettier city to get loaned to than Vienna? I don't know if that is all that important to a young kid who wants the bright lights and party spots, but for an old fart like me, Vienna would be a dream.
