Within this thread you post your most valuable player of the Euro 2008 tournament. Allthough we just started i am interested in which player - untill now - impressed you most. For me in person this was Spanish striker David Villa and our Dutch He-Man Dirk Kuyt.

Ivica Olic, scored only 1 goal but he is always trying his best and well.. you saw what he was doing to Austrian and German defence.

hard to say at the minute when some players who have impressed, such as Villa, have only played one match in the tournament so far.

Pepe has impressed me and not just for his goal scoring contribution in the first match. speed, strength and a cool head. looks the pick of the centre backs on show at this minute in time.

It's the easy pic, but Cristiano Ronaldo has had a hand in all of the Portugal goal. You can't ignore a guy who scores a hat trick, and Kuyt has been great. Have to see who flourishes in the knockout phase.

    So far, in this order:

    1- Sneijder
    2- Cristiano
    3- Villa
    4- Robben
    5- Deco

I would say thats about right, so far. Sneijder has been amazing, along with Ronaldo and Villa.

I think you have to see Villa play well in at least two games before picking him.

    Why?

Apart from that, Villa is a really fantastic striker. He'll probably go to one of the big clubs this summer. He's scored 3 goals many times with Valencia. For many Spaniards he is our best player but Torres and Fabregas are more famous because of the world audience of the Premier league.

I think he is a great player, I just think you have to see whether it is his being just that good, the Russian defense being just that bad, or a combination of the two.

Well, sure, but this thread is to say which are the MVP's of the tournamente SO FAR, isn't it? Otherwise please post the rule of not writing anything until having played how many games? two is enough?

agree wholeheartedly regarding Villa. not to say i don't rate him. far from it, but i'd like to see him play more than one game.

put quite simply no. and Villa has only played one match so far.

    The entire Dutch squad.

But this is too early to discuss anyways.

I have a lot of respect for Olic, who hustles all the time. But he's not the tournament MVP so far. Up till now, it's gotta be Villa, Snejder and Podolski.

Nice discussion people on Spains David Villa. I am certainly going to watch todays pre-nights match against Sweden. We shall closely watch David Villa in his second performance and tomorrow will know if he's worth being nominated for MVP Euro 2008 ... ;-)

Come on, I named him THIRD in the list after one only game and after Sneijder and Cristiano. There is no discussion. I just said that so far he deserved that third place. I'm not saying he is the MVP of the tournament at all, and I never expected him to be.

So, can I now mention Villa as the THIRD most valuable player SO FAR of the tournament?

Some people really enjoy talking too much.

I think Villa without a doubt has to be the front runner right now... Wesley would be #2, and I would probably put Deco at #3...

If you say Most valuable player then I'd think about who has done the most in the time he played by scoring almost every chance he had

Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He's amazing, you just give the ball to his feet or head and that's a goal. Shame that he can't play more...
