Hoping, but not expecting.
I'm a Parks fan but even I thought that a first team assimilation seemed unlikely. Gedson brings a bit more to the table for them at this stage and that makes sense; you can't teach athleticism and while Parks has a nice skill set Benfica has players who can do the same or better. I still am hoping for a loan.
I believe in Akale as well, I think he's being patient and flying under the radar but this is a normal developmental curve for players in Spain. Maybe not for the top teams like Madrid or Barcelona but we're not putting players on those teams anyway. If Akale can work his way up to being a starter on the A team, even in 3 years, he'll be at the top of the player pool and unquestionably one of our best players.
What American players are developing and staying in MLS? Name three? The fact that you can't see how absolutely dreadful MLS is for player development should scare all of us.
Portland Timbers to send midfielder Eryk Williamson on loan #RCTID #MLS
The same club that hasn't come close to developing two other prominent U20 World Cup players.... MLS is an absolute Joke and is killing American Soccer.
Villarreal started 2 players younger than Akale to open La Liga last weekend.
He needs to crush it with the B team and hopefully get his chance.
You’re saying Tyler Adams would have been developing better in the Spanish or Portuguese 3rd division than with NYRB? Leipzig scouts would die from laughter at that opinion.
Two players that have been with the club since they were 13 and 14.
I don't think they would actually considering Villarreal is a better club than Leipzig and if Tyler had been with Villarreal since he was 16 instead of RBNY he would be playing first team La Liga football. You're also referring to one individual who is supremely physically talented not technically gifted there is a huge difference. Tyler has on his own decided that MLS is not the place for him to maximize his potential.
Okay folks, the back and forth about league comparison and the sidebar stuff about national teams both need to stop.
If you really want to do league comparisons, please do it here:http://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-containment-unit-the-ya-league-comparison-discussion.2011515/
National team discussion needs to go to USA Men or the News and Analysis forum.
I just deleted 4 posts that continued the discussions I just indicated should not be continued here.
It seems my post is gone, though I thought it was on topic. Maybe my meaning wasn’t clear. It was just a fun hypothetical about Giggsy being right about championing Akale for so long when not many others believed in him.
You guys just don't give up, do you?
Great discussion for the containment unit.
I saw it as such initially but felt compelled to take it down after it was used by others as a basis for continuing the off topic stuff. Sorry to turn you into collateral damage!
Okay, I just moved a new bunch of stuff to the containment unit.
And probably Josh Perez as well.
This thread make me want to throw my wenis around right in the face of a few folks.
Is that bad or good?
It’s a nice wenis. So it’s really up to them.
Akale starts on the bench for Villarreal's season opener vs Lleida in Segunda B.
So he's a bench player for the reserve team? Throw him in the trash bin of Yanks Abroad HIIIIIIISTORRRY!!!!!!
Villarreal is down two after 36 minutes. Maybe we will see Akale in the second half to shake things up.
He's on as the third sub at 76'. Villarreal and is down 2-1 against a ten man Lleida.
Match ended Lleida 2-1 Villarreal
This thread is funny.
It's a weird thread.
