Why on earth are you speaking in such profound absolutes? How much of an authority are you on this matter? Not trying to attack, but it's disconcerting.
Here's hoping for 3 inches, 20 lbs of muscle proportionally distributed with your standard increase of power, strength, acceleration related to those numbers. Oh and same skill. That's some nice skill and quickness..
This site (never seen it before) lists Akale at 165 cm, or 5'4", as of last May. http://talentshunter.wordpress.com/2014/05/06/mukwelle-akale/
Exactly. It's a hindrance. It's a negative. It's something that has to be overcome, and that is harder to overcome at 5'3" than it is at 5'5", and doesn't really even need to be overcome at 5'8".
I believe that is Tommy Redding. CB for Orlando City and US u-17 and 18's. Wiki says he's around 6'2". Tommy's a pretty big boy.
Disconcerting, in retrospect, is a strong word lol. Just annoyed that the thread has taken this turn and continues to stay along this path.
Well, his quickness is lightning. That can only improve. If he doesn't grow a couple of inches he will really have to hit the weight room.
See, this is good evidence. Bayern Munich wanted Redding. Only Villarreal wanted 'Kwele. Correlates positively with height.
Regarding Akale... He's short. Surely there are other things about him that are worth discussing... Like the fact that he's signed with a decent La Liga club.
Actually if Plata, who is probably 5'0", were American, he would be a fringe NT player. Anyone who is fast and can play forward has a chance.
Something must've happened, as he has become the resident "I called it that this youth player wouldn't make it" proclaimer. Pretty much in any thread in which people speak positively about a youth player, he comes in and drops a turd. It takes no insight to doubt. Everyone here acknowledges that if Akale doesn't get taller, then he will have to be that much better in other areas. That he is where he is now sets him apart from most kids in our pool. But not a single person has confused his place now with some sort of pure guarantee of what he will become. Apparently saying that his height doesn't necessarily limit his future set off the turd-siren, though.
Ahhh... pretty sure there was plenty of interest in Kwelle before Villareal. Lyon, Bayern, PSG.... you can keep going.
