No, it was silverish--and probably had the main logo in it, but shaped like a closed U. I have a photo somewhere of Beckenbauer wearing it ca. 1972 or so on a white shirt with a single red stripe on the side, as I recall.

Err there is a lot work that goes into it, especially for clubs that are in the Bundesliga they would invest quite a bit for a marketing team. In fact most shitty logos and picks these days stem from the actual client picking the worst choice out of several options.
