TBH it's a fairly disappointing appointment, but the blow has been very much softened by the return of Derek Collins and the hope of getting players like Innes and Skelton on loan.

A highly rated coach but I'm not sure about his ability as manager. I'll be right behind him though, and despite his freakishly large lips he could be a success...

It has all gone horribly wrong this season. And I honestly can't see where we're going to get a win from in our remaining matches. Which isn't really surprising considering the last time we beat a team in the league that isn't called Stirling Albion was the 10th of November - that's two wins in our last 19 league games, and they were against the bottom club, who we've already played them 4 times this season.

Not entirely sure most of your fellow Morton supporters would agree with you.

Although considering the situation he was in at Gretna and the way he came in to Morton, I think the time to really judge Davie Irons as a manager will be how he does with Morton next season.

What do the Morton fans think about their current squad and their chances under Irons next season? A lot of them seemed pretty happy with the signings he made but I got the feeling they weren't turning out as hoped.

Also, what do you think of Clyde's chances in the play-offs. I reckon Airdrie are the strongest from the 2nd. How do you rate Clyde's chances of staying up and how good do you think they'll do in the 2nd if they go down?

most are quite optimistic and are happy to have irons.

if i remember correctly, irons only made one signing, partaluu, and he's apparently been one of the ton's best players lately. all the other's were signed by mcinally i believe, including wake, who had 2 goals today.

just look at the change in results from when mcinally was around, and when irons came. he clearly has done something right;)

as for the playoff, i have no idea tbh

Didn't Irons sign McGuffie and Jenkins from Gretna?

Poor Brian Wake, I see him getting so much abuse so I always look out for his goals.

Btw. congrats on missing the pla-offs. I was sure you'd be in them at one point.

Davie Irons has done a magnificent job so far. It's hard to describe how bad it got under McInally towards the end, it was an utter shambles. Irons actually has us playing as a team again, and quite a decent team.

The only signing he has made is Paartalu, who has been impressive. Wake, Jenkins and McGuffie came in under McInally in January. Wake's improvement has been incredible, his work rate and strength are out of this world. McGuffie has been poor but improving. Jenkins isn't fit.

I'm more excited about the upcoming season under Irons and Collins than I ever was about a season under McIanlly :) He has us playing like a completely different team, or well, like a team at all (which is an amazing improvement)

Every Thistle player - and coach - should see their entrails fed to their weeping widows for yesterday's 'performance'. A complete and utter disgrace.
