The Quakes tweeted that Magnus went back to Sweden to deal with a personal matter. Presumably he will be back. If the organization was not so secretive by nature, and they didn't just discuss dubious injuries from players apparently too bedridden to confirm them to the media, we could take this at its unremarkable face value.
Did you notice why Joe ran into that Impact player? Wondo passed a ball right into Joe's path. Joe looked to avoid the ball and ran over the player. Hubby and I believed Wondo did it on purpose. Read my in-game comments when you're done watching the game!
Sadly, this is not true. Right now, we are 2-6-11 (w-d-L). Objectively, 2-6-13 is worse. 25Jul Home vs shittle 28Ju Home vs SaltLickers 04Aug Away to FCKD 11Aug Away to Crapids 18Aug Home vs TFC 25Aug Home vs Whitecraps 29Aug Home vs FCKD Maybe, maybe we can beat shittle, or the Crapids? Narrow chance of a tie against the Salt Lickers? Otherwise those are all dead losses, and if we're anything like as dysfunctional as I think? We're going to lose every game for the rest of the season. It's bad, and it can in fact, get much worse. We haven't heard of any fist fights in the locker room yet. They could trade away three or four of our guys for a bag of magic beans and a six pack. Go Quakes!! Fire Stahre!! Right Now!! - Mark
Predict what? The Quakes would be vague and uninformative in their tweets? Or that Magnus would have a personal matter to attend to back in Sweden? The former, yes. Totally predictable. The latter, not so much.
Maybe he flew home because his grandmother contracted ebola. Sometimes a personal matter is just that.
Godoy is also looking for a new club. That’s why he went straight to the tunnel after being subbed off [emoji848]
You are the one who usually predicts a player will leave at midseason and are always wrong. I do hope you break your streak with this one.
I'm thinking about looking for a new club too! I hear there's a good one in Reno!! Go Quakes!! Fire Blank Stahre!! - Mark
hey guys, we seem to have a lot of discussion about how good a player is, so i posted my collection of Audi Player Index scores in a new thread. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/earthquakes-audi-player-index-scores.2085166/
I have gone back to my standard for the remainder of the season of checking the score for away games, and if they lost, not watching the game. It appears that I made the right decision. At this point, I don't really care about the why behinds the arguments. I'm more focused on the how to get us better. In that vain, I have joined the JazzyJ Youth Club (except for Tarbell)! You heard it here first!
It's after 5 pm PDT on Monday and it appears both Alashe and the media covering the Quakes are still in a coma.
As they pointed out, once the first substitution is made (Alashe for Godoy in the 40th minute) all the other players are going to be getting ready. So that’s five minutes plus stoppage time in the first half, plus the fifteen minute halftime... why would Ockford not be ready after warming up for over 20 minutes, leading to Stahre not making the second substitution at halftime? As they say in the video, players often come on after like a minute, yet here 20 minutes was not enough... Add that right behind “Why did Godoy have to ask 3-4 times to be subbed out if he was injured?” in the list of questions...
Is the Quakes organization really going to try to move on from this as if it’s not a complete clister****?
More attention from the home office (https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...d-discord-what-you-mightve-missed-mls-week-20): Quakes in free fall You’ve probably seen or heard about Mike Petke’s rant over refereeing after Real Salt Lake’s 3-2 loss to Minnesota United. Things got even weirder in Montreal, though. I really have no words for what’s going on with the San Jose Earthquakes, who’ve lost many games this year and still found a new and even more discouraging way of taking the L, as the Matchday Central crew analyzed https://www.mlssoccer.com/iframe-vi...d=default&brightcove_account_id=5530036772001 For those that are counting, here are the latest playoff chances (.1%). http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/SanJose.html http://www.sportsclubstats.com/USA/MLS.html
It’s also Interesting the number of former player now pundits who were totally dumbfounded by Stahre’s move. Ale Moreno’s mouth was open, speechless, as he couldn’t find the words either. Same with Herc Gomez. Herc and Max Bretos both said they had never seen such substitutions before. Herc called this the brown Emoji show, and you can’t disagree with that description. It’s awful that the Quakes are saying nothing. We fans really need to take action beyond not renewing tickets
I am under the impression that Tuesdays are usually the days when the press has access to to players after practice, so we usually don't see their stories until Wednesday or Thursday. So I wouldn't expect much on a Monday after 5, at least not from many of the semi-pro and amateur press who have other jobs or time constraints. The Mercury-News might be expected follow up more quickly on a controversial story, and if it were MLB, NBA, or NFL they might do so. Being the Quakes, their editors might not care enough to do so..
I suggested a boycott of our home games until some distinct changes took place but was shouted down by the apologists. I say it again: BOYCOTT THE HOME GAMES!
But, in their condemnation of Stahre, neither of them brought up the fact (if you believe the Quakes/Wondo) that Alashe had an injury.
