Full name: Montpellier Hérault Sport Club Nickname(s): MHSC, La Paillade Founded: 1974 Ground: Stade de la Mosson, Montpellier (Capacity: 32,900) Official Website: http://www.mhscfoot.com/
the game today had some good chances on either side but I can tell m'pellier had a tough time cracking down the bordeaux defense, bordeaux could have gone up 1-0 first but credit to jourdren for making it difficult for belay good performances all over for m'pellier including the subs have to wait for lyon-psg to see if the club gets 1st
matchday 25 Montpellier has again reached 1st place, be amazed if they don't finish in the top four for this season
A rival to Eden Hazard - Why Barcelona are watching Montpellier sensation Younes Belhanda http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/ed...val-to-eden-hazard-why-barcelona-are-watching nice read
Montpellier edged Bordeaux 1-0 to snatch the lead in the French league from Paris Saint-Germain which salvaged a 4-4 draw with Lyon on Saturday. Montpellier had a one-point lead over PSG. Montpellier forward John Utaka scored the winner by heading in a corner in the 80th minute. Bordeaux and Montpellier both struck the woodwork in the first half. Montpellier playmaker Younes Belhanda rattled the bar in the 18th while Bordeaux midfielder Ludovic Obraniak hit the post in the 21st.
So glad to see MHSC playing so well. Seems like yesterday I was watching them sputter along in the second division from the Butte Paillade, which was always full despite the rest of the stadium being close to empty. Tickets were 5 euros then. I've got the feeling the prices might have risen a touch since
attendances have risen a touch as well, sections are starting to be filled up now and the chanting is getting louder, if they make it to CL they will only rise higher but I wonder what would happen if they don't obtain it the season after, that and who are they going to sell if anyone
lol bro thats ligue 2 prices when i go back to france and see my club TOURSFC play i buy cheapo seat aka VIRAGE SUD aka Placement libre you can seat anywhere in that area for about TARIF NORMAL WEB 6,60 € TARIF REDUIT WEB 4,60 € ones normal price and the other one is discount/student/club member if you ever go back to France watch some ligue 2 matches its cheap and they are pro level best bang for your euro have fun
Hopefully sell no one this summer and instead do some buying. Dirty CL money will be great for the club. Give Belhanda a raise, Giroud too and see if we can snatch some talent from other French clubs and abroad.
Oh I know, I went almost every week when I was in Montpellier! Never even went to a L1 match, even though Marseille and Toulouse were close by.
no doubt dude you want to put some price tags on these Montpellier players heres a quick list Olivier Giroud 15-24 million euros Benjamin Stambouli 2-4 million euros Karim Aït-Fana 4 million euros Younès Belhanda 12 -22 million euros Rémy Cabella 4-7million euros Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa 9-13 millions euros Joris Marveaux 3 million euros
Here's a quandry for you: You have a Champions League Group Stage calibre squad; You need money for a new stadium; You can sell players to fund the construction; If you sell players to fund the construction, you're squad becomes weaker; Which means you don't qualify for the Champions League Group Stage; Which means you earn less income outside Ligue 1; Which means fewer fans; and Therefore no need for a new stadium. ------------------------------------- Surely there's another way to do it. Where are those Arab investors when you need them?
I dont want to be a downer but when your owner said he'd rather have Courbis instead of Ancelloti as manager it reminded me of the typical small time, lacking ambition French mentality. You arent going to grow any bigger than what you are now with that kind of thinking.
they'll probably turn into a bordeaux, lille, rennes which isn't so bad considering they are a small club they can sell one of their stars and fund half of the stadium the rest they can take out on loan, they're not a buying club so they will have to rely on their youth and scouting which has proved to be successful
one of the few games without giroud available meaning utaka will probably be the main guy, interested to see how the team will play
good action in the first half dijon coming out early but then m'pellier starting to click and could have scored had the ref not blown a foul on the GK, la paillade still looking like its missing giroud but have had some good opportunities and creativity of cabella/ ait fana/ estrada probably end up seeing belhanda at some point
the good action continued to the second half, chances on both sides and dijon got the goal first with some decent play, m'pellier started to crank things up and with one or two changes were starting to get more and more into the final third though not troubling dijon's keeper much a foul at the edge of the box allowed a freekick and a goal, dijon so close to handing montpellier their first league loss in 2012 game ended 1-1 PSG face ajaccio at home so everyone is expecting PSG to top the table not a day for the betting man, Lille 2-2 Auxerre, OM 0-1 Toulouse, Nancy 2-0 Lyon, ASSE 0-2 Evian
