Chelsea aren't in CL which I would think would factor in with Manolas - at least for next year. I think we can and should give Manolas a raise.
Especially seeing as how they paid only 29 mill for him just 2 years ago, and that he's essentially been a rotational player for them since then.
What is he gonna do? Grow a beard? He has bigger incentive to be at the top of his game( if he wants someone to make a serious offer for him now, or when his contract is over/near its end) than Real Madrid to let him go for less that they think is his reasonable price. They're not Roma. They can afford to lose money on stubborn players and intimidate players that way, because everybody wants in Real. Less so in Roma. We are much more flexible with players wanting to bend Roma's hands, because we both need the money and the good reputation of being a nice stepping stone for guys like Pjanic and Benatia.
