Along with what's also been posted I'll break down the other scenario more specifically. So Kroenke owns the Rapids, right? The Rapids sources of income are TV, tickets, merchandise, stadium rentals, etc. Except that for the Rapids, they aren't.

TV - Altitude gets the rights for free/next to nothing since they're also owned by KSE.
Merchandising - Altitude Authentics is the official home for merchandise for all KSE teams (Nuggets, Avs, Rapids, Mammoth), not the individual teams
Tickets - KSE runs its own ticketing company (not sure the current name its using) that all tickets funnel through
Stadium rental - DSG Park is a separate company in KSE that the Rapids contract with for stadium use. The Rapids do not, technically, control their own stadium
Field rentals - DSG Stadium Ops is yet another company in KSE that handles the soccer complex rentals
Stadium food - Part of the greater Aramark contract that Aramark has for all KSE facilities in the Denver market

So, as you can see, the Rapids themselves have almost no sources of income. Sponsorships is about all they get (and even some of the best of those, like Western Union, get cherry-picked and handed to the "bigger" teams in KSE's stable). So they probably lose money hand over fist. KSE, however, gets plenty of money from the existence of the Raids, its just funneled through other corporate entities. So they can factually claim the Rapids are losing money while thy sit back and make money, not to mention the growth of the team as an investment.

This is a joke. Soccer cannot be player indoors on turf at a high level, and thus soccer was 100% an afterthought when MB was built. MB will never get a World Cup match, will never host a Gold Cup final, and will never be an elite level soccer building. And it never wanted to. A claim otherwise can only be taken as a joke.

    I know you are trolling...
Gold Cup semifinals were played in the Georgia Dome which was right next door and was turf. A grass field was laid for the 2 games and they sold out. So yes, I would say MBS will very likely host a 2026 world cup game. Obviously with grass. It is currently listed as one of 23 official candidate stadiums for 2026. Only 7 of these candidates will be not used.

I am sick of these trolling accusations for factual posts. Cut it out all of you!!!

Feel free to say "told you so" when MB stadium hosts one of the following: A World Cup game or a Gold Cup/Copa America FINAL.

you are a troll. you post outlandish things to get a rise out of people. Sorry that is exactly what trolls do.
Posting an opinion is not "factual" in any way shape or form. Sorry, try again.

MBS and AT&T both domes with turf are officially candidate stadiums for 2026. That is a fact.

And what does it matter if it is a Gold Cup final or semifinal. Why make such distinction?

*sigh* I shouldn't have to address your usual low-brow posts, but I will anyway.

If MBS was built for soccer, then it is currently the most expensive soccer stadium in the world. It would be a cathedral. All the biggest matches would go there. And that isn't going to happen because... it's a football stadium.

Not going to happen. If any indoor stadium gets a game it will be Los Angeles.

You don't think Jerry World in Dallas OR NRG in Houston will get a game? Both of them shutout? That would be amazing.

Phoenix has a grass field. They have a better chance. Houston and Dallas will not be getting any knockout round games for sure. Most likely no games at all.

No knockout round games for Dallas??? Oh really??? You're not very smart at times are you? Don't be surprised if the Final is played there............it is the largest Pro stadium in the US after all with a SRO capacity in excess of 100K.

All indoor stadiums............don't forget about US Bank Field in Minneapolis either.......

The 2026 World Cup will have more games played indoors then any other World Cup in history, and quite possibly combined.

Currently, Dallas has TWO potential venues in the running for 2026: AT&T Stadium and the Cotton Bowl, which now holds around 90,000 after the expansion that the City of Dallas did about a decade ago.

Edit: They eliminated the Cotton Bowl? Mother********ers!

Which one has better amenities? That should be pretty easy to answer.

AT&T, of course. The Cotton Bowl is a bit of a dump.

Amenities are going to be a much bigger deciding factor than if the stadiums normally have grass.

Maybe dial back the bellicose statements and demonstrably false statements like:

Seriously, Atlanta is a top 10 population US city, the highest average attendance for soccer in the domestic league, and a wealthy population.. FIFA is not going to pass up on putting a game in MB just because it is indoor and has a turf field when there are ways to install a grass field on top of the turf...

Lets remember that in 1994 they put games in the dome in fracking Detroit. If they were willing to do that then they aren't going to blink at putting a game in MBS.

If a knockout game will be held at an indoor stadium, that's probably a sign that fifa is as corrupt as they were when awarding Qatar the world cup. The quality of soccer on those fields would be disastrous. I am old enough to remember the great silverdome disaster of 94.

Mentioning the 100k capacity of att stadium is also hilarious. As if there is any chance at all that fifa will allow standing room at a world cup.

The final will be at MetLife. It's already been announced.
