That's not what the article says. Tata says the way the game ended (with an Atlanta loss unable to convert shots into goals) was unfair because of the way Atlanta finished (scored goals) this season. He didn't say anything about it being unfair because of penalties. The penalty bit is him simply saying he didn't prepare his team for it. If you're gonna play Mainstream Media and report fake news, do a better job of it.
Last night was one of the best Crew games I've ever watched and we honestly didn't even play that well. Let's get it going for Tuesday and take a big lead into NY.
You kidding? I think that was one of the most complete games I've ever seen the Crew play. Williams and Mensah were solid at the back, Pipa and the offense were creating chances, etc. It was an outstanding all-around game on our part.
Except for finishing. Both sides clearly had chances they should have finished. Of course, hats off to Guzan and (especially) Steffen for coming up big when finishes were on frame. And, a tip of the hat to the referees, especially the sideline ref, for incorrectly raising his flag when it really mattered.
Another angle of the team's arrival last night (skip to ~6:20 for the goods). Periscope of team arrival: (ffwd for 3-4 minutes, beginning is awful/boring, sorry) https://t.co/2V5LdpPDfz— Sunshine Brigade (@SunBrigadeSC) October 27, 2017 Pipa looks like he is so damn happy and appreciates the fans so much. Steffen and Ola loving it. And Williams? That dude gets it. Dammit, I love these guys.
I heard yesterday that that call Atlanta's new stadium MegaTron's Butthole. It still makes me laugh. I like playing with blocks too.
Thanks to all that went out (I'm out of town) And no, I'm NOT near tears in the airport getting ready to come home after watching that. Gust of wind blew something in my eye.
Random thoughts - - You have to hand it to Atlanta fans. Great atmosphere! - What is going on with Meram? Is his head and heart in Iraq? His turnovers in the last several games has been horrifying. - We need to up our game at backup keeper - get ready for Zach's inevitable call-ups. - The toughness of our boys - to endure all they are going through, last night was a fitting metaphor. The kind of thing that makes you really fall in love with these guys. So many of them couldn't even physically run by the end. And how about Ola's chase to the back during overtime. What a man!! Heroes. Heroes. - I wish I could post a video my wife took of me when Adam scored. That was one of the greatest sporting events I've experienced - fueled in part by the events of the past week. - I can't wait til Tuesday! Although I am enjoying savoring this. We all needed it.
If I may toot my own horn https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/pre-pbp-columbus-atlanta.2076848/#post-36009003 Granted I didn't think we'd actually WIN a shootout.
How'd the "most successful expansion team in MLS history" do last night? #justaskin— peter wilt (@PeterWilt1) October 27, 2017 Oh, my.
As the parent of two, this GIF reminds me of what it looks like when little kids are stuck waiting in line for something and really have to pee.
New angle on Trapp when the Crew came home. Thank you for the warm welcome home last night! 🖤💛 #CrewSC pic.twitter.com/UTPJsJihFP— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) October 27, 2017
Good luck from here out Crew. Hate to see our magical first season end, but great effort by your team last night. Solid game plan and Steffen was sensational. Easily the most intense, action-packed 0-0 game I've ever seen. 41 shots, including 13 on-target, yet no goals in 120+ minutes of regulation. Incredible. And that doesn't even count all the crosses or other scoring chances in the box, or the plays negated by offsides. Should be interesting to see what the fans have planned for their home game next week.
BTW, anyone who only caught the 4 minute highlights, they conveniently left out that we scored a legit goal.
