Apparently not. Looks like Red Bull management put the kabosh on the deal at the 11th hour, despite protests from Mo Johnston.

What a terrible trade by the Red Bulls. Way too pricey for Peguero who is an average striker at best. He's also going to count against the foreing player limits too. You'd think a team, with the connections of the owner might have been able to score a bigger name/better player than a mediocre Haitan who hasn't ever set MLS alight. He's okay, has flashes, but I don't rate him anything like this valuable.

Not dissimilar to Cornell Glen who only cost a 3rd Rounder?! (NYRB also gave up a player AND a 1st?!)

Going off the 2005 draft (as we've had a chance to see these guys develop a bit)...a 1st could have gotten you Guzan, Besagno, Parkhurst or Sealy and a third could have scored you Chris Rolfe or Gonzo Seagares?!

    Horrible bit of business....

Peguero has his green card. (The Rapids SI's are Dedi, Cooke, Hernandez, and the incoming Karanka)

Well, that's softens the blow slightly. Still, so does Thiago Martins...and I can't get past a 1st rounder for him. Martins and a 3rd would have been right to me. Even Martins and a 2nd, but not a 1st and 3rd.

I've got to agree that the Red Bulls over paid for Pedro. Many Rapids fans are happy to see him go as he hasn't worked hard since his first season. He does have the talent and ability, he just won't work hard to make plays happen. He often looks for the ref to help him.

As a Rapids fan I would have taken the 1st round pick alone for Pedro, but the other pic makes it even better. If Martins scores one goal as a Rapid, I will see it as gravy.

I'll let someone else post the Martino/Grabavoy trade, and the Oughton waiver, and simply ask the question:

Columbus now has only three senior roster players - Busch, Marshall and Hejduk - who finished last season with the Crew.

Has any team in the history of the league ever had this kind of a massive turnover.

Columbus traded Duke Hashimoto and a couple of picks for RSL's Noah Palmer. Should be a link on MLSNet.com about it.

So Chicago, Houston and Kansas City are the only teams that have had no roster changes since the start of the season.

(Technically Houston added 3rd GK Martin Hutton after the season started, but he was already gone from Kansas City and training with Houston the entire pre-season-- it was just a matter of negotiating compensation with Kansas City which still held Hutton's rights at that point. The Wizards received a 2007 MLS Fourth Round Supplemental Draft pick from Houston, by the way.)
