So what you're saying is ... US fans need to unfairly scapegoat more players, so they're motivated to improve and perform at a high level? Who should we target next?
Well ya he did get injured and had to sub early out the game. Also the team could’ve looked disjointed with Corona getting used to his teammates. Joe looked a lot better today too actually. That midfield of Dos Santos, Corona and Lletget is so fun to watch Apparently he still played today with a broken nose and performed quite well.
Why ask if he was “injured”? He was “garbage”, so surely you watched and would know whether he was injured or not.
I was extremely impressed with Sands' performance last week. This week Sands again gets the start at the DM slot in NYFC's 4-1-4-1 on FS1. Parks is not in the 18, Lewis on the bench.
Caleb is giving Trapp real help and it is fueling Trapp's confidence while getting more value out of the position.
I was amazed at the Parks band wagoning after he had a couple of mediocre appearances for the MNT. But, hey, Portugal!
Thanks for speaking for everybody on the "bandwagon". Parks played for USMNT? I'm not looking up the total minutes. I'm guessing 2 games and 10 minutes or so?
40 min mark is an example of why I am impressed with Sands. Wins the ball at midfield and then starts the break off the dribble leading to a dangerous YC foul by LA. Big, aggressive, mobile enough to be in the right positions to play MF in the modern game. Not afraid to have the ball at his feet and to make passes on the move. Reminds me of a young GCam at Houston and may project more as a mobile CB at the next level.
18 year old Aaronson gets on the scoresheet today against collapsing Atlanta United. He made a nice turn to start the move. Unless there was a deflection, it was also atrocious by Guzan.
Akinola goal and secondary assist. Showed good strength. A lot of people dont rate him on here but he seems to be doing ok professionally. I see him as a similar type player as Jordan Morris. Maybe a lil more upside
Jozy Altidore returns to action with a goal. Bradley breaks the New England defense with a pass to a streaking Morrow, who crosses to a wide open Altidore in front of goal.
that game looked like one that would cost Friedel his job but 2 goals should be enough to stay on for next weekend, anyway. NE look futile. They are like an academy team practicing without putting anything together that looks the slightest bit dangerous.
Wow, Miles Robinson just drove Burke crazy. He was phenomenal. I think DeBoer is doing interesting stuff with Atlanta and I hope the team stays with him. I still say he has more than enough creativity to replace Nagbe and he could replace his cooling skills by trading him to Crew for Trapp and use Remedi more as an 8, with 3 cb's behind Trapp. Larentowicz' age (and he came out injured) makes it all the more logical.
Players often play through injury. He was pretty horrible when I watched the other week. No. I'm not around the team, so don't necessarily know who might be carrying a knock. I also frequently watch games with the volume turned down. I queried a poster who had watched the most recent game. That poster provided additional info. I didn't mean to trigger anyone. Hopefully, this clears things up for you. Be safe.
Whoscored Team of the Week: ----------------Morris(8.1)------------- -Pontius(7.9)------------Muyl(8.9) -----Lletget(9.1)--Rodriguez(7.7) Morrow(7.5)-----Ulloa(7.6)---Duncan(8) ------------Trusty(7.3)--Robinson(7.4)--- ----------------------Frei(8.2)--------------- HM - Akinola(7.6), Bunbury(7.6), Bradley(7.5), Aaronsen(7.3), Sapong(7.2) Notes: - Morris is the only player to make the XI every week - Rodriguez has 3 goals in his last 2 matches - Sapong has scored or assisted in the first 3 matches - Robinson's fine form is finally rewarded - More attackers and young Americans contributing so far, but there's been a stealth decline in domestic cdm's
There was a deflection as the ball went through the defender's legs but it didn't look like he saw it anyway.
Duncan was awful. Somebody pls explain that one. Morris is still the only one with a thread asking if he is the "real deal"
As the Atlanta v Philly game came to a close, DeBoer had one scorer and 6 creators on the pitch: of the creators I'm thinking Pity,Barco, Gressel, Nagbe, Carleton, Shea. The scorer would be Martinez, ofc. I suppose Barco should be considered a scorer. Ok, maybe 2 scorers and 4 creators. Gressel's cirizenship can't come soon enough. Shea played his part very well, b.t.w.
