Bendik was just traded to Columbus, which makes the Earl Edwards to DC trade all the more loathesome. So all a sudden Orlando are going to have to make a move at goalkeeper. Maybe we could send Andrew Tarribell their way lol, Shea to Atlanta is slightly interesting i suppose.
Interesting to see what Te Kloese does with LA Galaxy’s youth players. Efra et all. Not that he’s ours yet. Seattle has some good colts coming up too I’ll be interested to see if any of them become new flavors of the week.
He should take it if this is the best offer he has in Europe. Walker Zimmerman has contract offer from Trabzonspor but I don’t expect him to sign there. He has other offers and LAFC still want him back https://t.co/pZUEwlQC7C— MLS Transfers (@MLSTransfers) January 5, 2019
🚨 Columbus Crew defensive midfielder Wil Trapp looks set to leave MLS! Scottish champions Celtic FC are reportedly interested in him. Trapp recently posted a photo on Instagram of his Greek passport. #Crew96 #Celtic #USMNT #MLS pic.twitter.com/o1juxK0Wj2— MLS Transfer Zone (@MLS_ZONE) January 8, 2019
Good for him. Scottish league isn’t anything special but Rodgers is a good coach and he will face roster competition like never before. Should be a good test for him and force him to improve.
I think it makes good sense. I think he should be a popular player. Trapp could probably have stepped in at Fullham and contributed.
Intriguing possibility, if for no other reason then to see how it would affect his reputation as the new Michael Bradley. I hope it happens.
He might want to talk to Perry Kitchen about the SPL first.................playing at Hearts did wonders for his career............
Interesting how Celtic is interested in American players all of a sudden. They never had any of any note, until Tim Weah's loan announced a few days ago. (I'm ignoring Dominic Cervi, who signed with but never played for Celtic.) Meanwhile, Rangers have had Reyna, Bocanegra, Beasley, and Edu. That's a lot of American talent. Guess Celtic is finally realizing we have something to offer.
Looks like a group of agents are trying to get Americans on Celtic/Rangers again now that they are both back to power in that league. It's decent gateway into Europe, if you are a starter and perform. Though, I do worry that Trapp's physicality will be found lacking in the derby's and European competitions if this comes to fruition.
If he can't handle physical play the sooner it's found out the better. On the other hand he may prove he can handle it.
I keep reading posts from MLS fans claiming the MLS is a very physical league...doesn't Trapp start and play well in the MLS?
As I've pointed out before, Wil Trapp has been quite a lowly rated starter in MLS per metrics like Whoscored the last couple of years. I've never been impressed with him. He was good enough to get a shot, and he's got it, but I think we should move on now or he should be relegated to b-teamer. And there are other factors to success in a league besides physicality anyways. It could be physical but slow-paced, making way for a ball circulating 6 like Trapp to be adequate. You're seemingly just looking for an angle to s**t on MLS some more. There's not even any nuance or degree to it. The "MLS Fans" classification is telling. I guess you're either are a detractor of the league and everything about it, or you're a fan. Not much middle ground or individual player analysis to be had.
Okay but when Perry Kitchen was doing halfway decent in the SPL some people acted like that actually meant something... he had that magic Euro dust sprinkled on him, he was shiny until he came back to MLS and it was once again clear that he's average at best.
Nobody reading this forum is stupid enough about professional soccer to believe all leagues in Europe are equal. It's time to retire the old saw about Euro magic dust, as it is now only used to knife those that prefer watching European soccer to MLS.
