Altidore has a 4.9 rating on FotMob, anyone watching that match?

Classic GZ one time goal. I think this season will show why some have said the only position they would play him is striker.

I actually think there’s opportunity for him at striker. Jozy can be so awful with the on field attitude, but Zardes has always seemed to be 100% into it. He’s just looked awful in the midfield.

I had always hoped he was played in midfield for his workrate and hopes he could round out his game a bit.

Playing him up front allows team to benefit from his work rate, runs and first time finishing and hide is touch as much as possible. I think his us to the NT is limited to the short term. I’ll take Wood and Johanssesn ahead of him today and Sebatchieu (if we can get him), Weah, and Sargent will be better option within a couple of years.

It is funny you mention Altidore as argued the two might make a decent partnership as neither fit the typical game of a target or second striker, but between the two, the cover both roles.

Was that Garza who got blown by for the Houston goal?

Garza just got smoked on the Houston goal... Rough start for him.

Slashers need others who can make the play. Like Fab Johnson, Zardes can be good in wide midfield if there are sufficient numbers of ball handlers at the other positions.

Also, that was a very clinical strike by GZ from a tight angle. Plenty would have had that shot blocked.

If Garza was athletic, he'd be our starting LB.

He's not though, so he's not good enough for the international level. Good defensively and excellent going forward, but he's beaten for pace routinely.

Garza is a nice attacking fullback but has limited lateral movement, even less so following the hip surgery.

I think that may have been Atlanta's LCB that got blown by and not Garza on the first goal.

Guzan is standing on his head, and his team is losing 3-0 in the first half.

Can Wenger do it for more than a few games this time?

Guzan howler, but he's been pretty good this half.

This is some of the worst defense I've seen. Atlanta is almost giving up defensively.

Pirez was blown by on the second I think. The chances are coming so fast it’s hard to keep track how bad this performance is.

Is Wenger good or is Atlanta shocking?
