It's crazy but not that crazy when you look at league play. I'm not sure about Ream I only can go by the reports.

Shame to see this go to PKs. This game has been so good, it deserved to be decided one way or the other in the run of play.

I am pretty sure that is the case or just lack of confidence. He was dropped a couple months back and he has started for the national team in a while right? My memory isn't the greatest on that. I am sure there is something going on with Besler. He was a beast earlier in the year.

Besler, Brooks, and Ream all play a similar style. Mobile, athletic, distributors out of the back that are primarily LCBs. Besler is the most physical and best defender out of the 3. Brooks will get there soon but I'd say Matt is currently the better player and best suited to the international game.

I'd stick with Besler as our top CB until he start having shaky moments with he national team. I would hope to get him and Gonzalez into January camp to get some chemistry going before the WC.

that was an extremely poor PK, something to be mindful of if we ever go to PKs certainly

and misses it, SKC win it. everyone shoots but the goalkeepers

best american player on the night was Kyle Beckerman easy though

then Zusi, Gil, Rimando, Feilhaber, Sinovic, and Myers in that order with good games as well.

    Besler a night to forget.

still, lots of worthy camp strudel bodies there who should get a shot at spots 20-23 on the roster.

It goes down to the CBs. Will it go down to the GKs?

    10 PKs. Wow.

Congratulations SKC. Neither team really deserved to lose.

This Cup Final and PK shootout is going to enter MLS lore, I think. The shootout of 2013...

that game was a testament to how brilliant this league has become. eurosnobs really need to shut up and color about "international" and "club" form after this game, and this season in general. MLS is loaded with quality now. that was more exciting than the Sunderland-Tottenham game i watched earlier this morning by a long shot, and probably on par with Man Ciy-Southampton as far as excitement goes, and probably in between the two matches in terms of quality.
