Wait, is ECC/WCC Home & Home too? I thought it was single elimination game played at higher seed. Is this the first year for this, or is my memory failing me?
Yeah, assuming TFC and Columbus win, the home leg of the EC final is scheduled for Nov 21 at 8pm: https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/schedule/2017-11-21
Well, we could have finished 4th... There are Honduran players in MLS that will be playing the Socceroos; there could have been Panamanian players in MLS in that same boat instead. I think it's a good thing for MLS to respect the FIFA international dates.
Am I correct in understanding that no matter who wins the East, except RBNY, they will host MLS Cup? The highest point total in the West was 53 and the Crew had 54 as the lowest point totals in the East, again, except for RBNY.
I don’t think they could wiggle out. It’s exactly what we need to host and win MLS Cup in front of another sellout crowd. We really need a sell out for our Home gm vrs TFC (NYRB if a miracle happens) I’m personally keeping my season tickets for 2018 to support Columbus . F.... AP even if nobody showed up to a home gm next year he wouldn’t be hurting for money and would only validate his points on us as a community lacking commitment. My hope is we stop this @$$ from moving our team but if not that we get a new stadium and bring them back.
How can you lose somebody playing on a field the size of a postage stamp? Seriously though, it's like playing soccer on a foosball table, disgraceful really.
I'd be in favor of it if the US or Canada were playing. But a league that played matches during the Gold Cup, takes a week off because of WC playoff matches elsewhere in the world? Makes no sense. We don't need the extra week to sell conference final tickets.
I completely disagree. It's one thing to have national teamers absent during the regular season. It's another thing altogether for teams that have reached the conference finals to not have full rosters because of World Cup Qualifiers -- regardless of what countries they might be from.
Well if the US or Canada were playing next week, I'd be in favor of pushing back the playoffs as they are doing. But pushing them back because Honduras is playing is silly.
Houston has four Honduran players -- three of whom played 20 or more matches for the club this season, and have been called up for the Australia playoff. Forcing them to lose three key players for conference final matches because they aren't American or Canadian would be an absolute travesty.
Why am I feeling so sexy today? Am I the only one feeling so sexy today? TOUCH MY BODY! Sorry, I started drinking early.
No, it wouldn't. The US not qualifying is a travesty. Houston relying on multiple players from the same minnow is simply taking a chance that Honduras doesn't play a meaningful match during the playoffs. Thanks T&T.
