By my count that's 8 mangers fired for performance reasons since the start of the 2019 season. A third of the league. And people say there's no consequences for failure in MLS. (For comparison, 10 of the 20 EPL sides changed managers between the start of the 2018-19 season and the start of the 2019-20 season, but I don't know that they were all for performance reasons)
Little known fact, Claudio Reyna's son was conceived in the back seat of a Geo Metro being driven by his friend Gio van Bronckhorst while listening to Sonic Youth's Goo Just kidding it was Teenage Riot
Edit: official Thierry Henry Becomes Chief Executive Coach of Montreal's Impact === Thierry Henry is the new coach of the Montreal Impact... https://www.tvasports.ca/2019/11/14/thierry-henry-a-la-barre-de-limpact https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2019/11/14/thierry-henry-a-la-barre-de-limpact-de-montreal Unfortunately supremely talented hyper-competitive sociopaths don't have the best track record when moving from player to coach...
Anyways, Thierry Henry has that special blend of being condescending, super-wealthy and scarred by years of #MLS play, something which immediately thrusts him to the top of the "COACH MOST LIKELY TO OPENLY, HILARIOUSLY DERIDE MLS OFFICIATING" power rankings, so I'm thrilled.— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) November 14, 2019 The real question in Montreal now is IF things start slowly, or hit a rough patch under Henry, how will Joey Saputo respond. A Henry-Saputo clash would have nuclear capabilities, but then again perhaps Henry has the cache to keep Saputo from going full Saputo— Ives Galarcep (@SoccerByIves) November 14, 2019 1194977439652417541 is not a valid tweet id

And that playoff game they won in 2015 was in large part to Geiger candy-assing his way out of a cold, rainy night and not wanting to be on the field for another 45 minutes. There were 2 penalties late in the game, one was clearly more obvious than the other. He only called one of them, the more border-line of the two. That was the game where Jermaine Jones got suspended for touching Geiger, when he argued the call. Had it been given, there's a good chance it would have tied the game and led to extra time. Afterwards, Geiger tried to defend his calls, but he got them completely reversed. So Olson's record is really worse than it seems. Maybe coaching in MLS is not so easy that a caveman can do it...
SAN DIEGO LOYAL ANNOUNCES LANDON DONOVAN AS MANAGER San Diego Loyal Soccer Club announced today highly acclaimed former U.S. soccer player Landon Donovan will lead in the role of Manager effective immediately. Landon Donovan, all the good and bad, is everything soccer USA. I loved to hate him, and now I learned to stop worrying and love the hate and love the guy.

The real question is who would win between them and Madison Forward. What the hell is it with these names? First it was the stupid, singular names of the mid-90s where a kid couldn't draw a picture of a Clash, Burn, Mutiny or a Wiz. Then these combo words that usually were misspelled and made no sense, like RiverDawgzz or YardGoats. Then it was all FC-this and that-United, roit, mate? You got your Topeka Benfica, a.k.a. The Fightin' Gerunds... And now names like that? What's wrong with an old-school name like a ferocious animal?
Forward Madison is a great name that represents the city/region, San Diego Loyal is a terrible name that is comparable to naming a team after some random wild animal not found within thousands of miles. They should have gone with Mission San Diego FC. Back on topic: 1196503031271088128 is not a valid tweet id
Well "Forward" is the state motto of Wisconsin and the flamingo thing is a bit of local Madison arcana. Whether or not you think it's cheesy and ridiculous or "authentic" depends on the eye of the beholder. or on your membership in the personality cult of a certain GM. For whatever it's worth, IMHO minor league soccer should embrace their baseball counterparts and be a little off-kilter.
