Not sure he could have a much better first half in a UCL debut. They are up at home against Genk 5-1.
Miami found their man? Technically there is an American connection there (which I didn't know about): https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...nager-santiago-solari-could-coach-inter-miami
Yeah...somehow Torrent and De boer had more votes than Hudson, Friedel and Koch...... If we did a vote for current coaches I wonder how many votes Gio would get?
#RSL and General Manager Craig Waibel Agree to Part Ways📋 https://t.co/w4EKzRiOvo pic.twitter.com/Hpd0vqgrW1— Real Salt Lake (@realsaltlake) September 28, 2019 #RSL has fired both the head coach and GM midseason as they look poised to finish fifth in the West. 👀Different circumstance with Petke obviously, but this is quite the drama. https://t.co/6t82OeVk84— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) September 28, 2019 The drama continues. Waibel was critical of RSL owner Dell Loy Hansen in comments published in Petke’s lawsuit. https://t.co/DxdYccOq2v— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) September 28, 2019
Waibel wasn't just critical; the lawsuit suggested he had a plan to exit the team in the offseason. Doing it now is probably best.
If Dynamo ownership had a brain, they would fire Jordan and hire Craig on the spot. It would win them so much goodwill with the fans on so many levels. Instead Jordan is doing a Facebook Live next week that will be comical.
https://www.impactmontreal.com/en/p...enard-named-montreal-impact-sporting-director The Montreal Impact announced Saturday the nomination of Olivier Renard as the club’s sporting director. Olivier Renard, 40, was the sporting director of Belgian club KV Mechelen, from 2014 to 2016, occupying the same role with Standard de Liège, from 2016 to 2019. More recently, he sat on the executive board of Royal Antwerp FC as a sporting consultant.
If the Rapids complete a miracle run to the playoffs Conor Casey and Robin Fraser should both win Manager of the Year.
Yeah but Anthony Hudson laid the foundation for the turnaround. He was just unlucky to get fired before
Clearly, I mean, you can't have a turnaround unless you're going the wrong direction in the first place.
*Ponders how crazy that the runaway winner for getting fired at the start of the season is likely to get a vote or two for Manager of the Year...*
I think there was a time, Bluecat, when you were in the lead to join the firing squad for ol' Heath? Maybe Adrian, like Dostoyevsky, needed to get a whiff of the gunpowder before awakening to his potential.
Hopefully a few seconds after the final whistle in our game against Orlando, BOTH NRod and Pauno are FIRED.
Celebrate!Pause.Reflect that Marsch could've/should've been the USMNT manager.Celebrate longingly. https://t.co/dQP9r6nDMG— Tutul Rahman (@tutulismyname) October 2, 2019 Hard to argue with this, the only other coach with a decent case is Bradley Jesse Marsch best American coach by far— Sanjiv (@USMNTvideos) October 2, 2019
MLS related fun fact. Salzburg's backup keeper today (and for most of this year so far) was a player that was beaten out for the number two spot in Philly by a 20 year old kid from Harvard. So he has gone from playing in front of a couple hundred people at Talent Energy Stadium in USL games to on the bench at Anfield in a UCL group stage game in less than half a year.
So the Earthquakes managed to not suck for one year, made almost no improvements mid-season, and likely still won’t even make the playoffs, before their first competent coaching staff bails for greener pastures... Report from @espnsutcliffe that Almeyda will be returning to Mexico with Monterrey. Difficult situation. Most coaches would want to listen to @Rayados (arguably the most rounded club in North Am - stadium, $, players, youth system). Almeyda's biggest game in MLS is on Sun. https://t.co/rqGoxIytZA— Tom Marshall (@mexicoworldcup) October 3, 2019 Report that #Quakes74 head coach Matias Almeyda will take the vacant coaching position at Monterrey. He spoke Sunday that not everyone on his coaching staff has adjusted to life in San Jose and was happy. https://t.co/JcVxG86lOF— Robert Jonas (@robertjonas) October 3, 2019 Could Sunday be the last we see of Almeyda in @MLS?! Reports in 🇲🇽 say that Monterrey will pay $3m+ clause to buy out Almeyda from his contract with @SJEarthquakes. If they make the playoffs then what?! #Quakes74 https://t.co/GyXCp67yv8— Taylor Twellman (@TaylorTwellman) October 3, 2019
