Who cares? The point is to illustrate that the comparison between the two groups of athletes was dumb to begin with. If it's the best argument for not paying these women, it's not doing men any favors.
Except that one of the main points of the WNT's argument last year was "We won the World Cup and they didn't." They've toned down such rhetoric and earned what appears to be a good deal for all. Joe Jackson put it best: "If there's war between the sexes then there'll be no people left."
