The only thing crappier than the quality of Montreal’s field is the audio quality of Columbus’ broadcast.
It is an MLS version of a throwback game, or would be if we got it in SD instead of HD. (How great was it when the old HDNet started carrying a game a week?)
I look at the Impact team out there today and I think how are they 2-2-2. Is the league that bad that Montreal is competitive with that lineup?
Ah Montreal Impact: They're garbage on the field, but they play near a transit line. (stares longingly with envy....)
The Montreal subway is great. Montreal tries very hard to be Euro, and duplicating a good transit system is a positive benefit of that.
The big underdogs this weekend according to the odds at si.com are San Jose (+607) at Houston and Cincinnati (+764).at LAFC.
Awful lot of walking from both teams. We are only 35 minutes in on a beautiful day. Not sure why the energy level is so low.
What utter crap. Apparently up to 5 interested groups are in discussions with the CPL to bring a team to the Montreal area next season. The level might be lower, but it can't be less exciting than what the Impact routinely put out there.
Oh, yeah, I love it. The only quirk is it's designed in a way that the current stock can only operate underground, so the only possibility for expansion is tunneling. One of my favorite cities. I'd move there in a second if I could, but I don't think being unable to speak more than a few phrases of French would help my job prospects as a psychiatrist.
They also have taxes on the scale of pretty socialist Euro countries. Many leave Quebec for that reason. Wages are low and taxes are high.
Well, looks like I'm planning a cross country driving trip that will see me going to at least 3 MLS games. Just grabbed tickets to a Timbers game and think I'm going to end up going to games in Minnesota and Chicago as well. Need to get in a game at SGS before they no longer play there.
Earl Edwards just looked like a traffic cone in goal for Loudoun on Ottawa's first shot. Luckily it hit him and went wide of goal, as he stood there looking perplexed.
