I'm not sure I love your logic that we should act stupid since other people act stupid too.

Josef Martinez better come up with a better PK routine this time.

    Edit: And he did.

If it's tied. Does it go to OT? or directly to PK's?

Josef converts this one after not doing all of his normal run-up that frankly should not be allowed.

Points at Portland Sunday are more important than this "trophy," and it's not even close. Says I, anyway.

Atlanta could/should be up by two or three goals at this point. Might come back to bite them.

If the keeper have to stay on their lines, then the PK takes shouldn't be allowed to stop/start before their kicks.

Not saying we should. What I'm saying is that people shouldn't act like this is some thing that only happens here. Teams and leagues try to make money. The reason most of the UEFA competitions (and there have been lots of them over the years like the Anglo-Italian Cup have only really died out because UEFA just expands the crap out of their competitions (they are adding a 3rd tier tourney in 2021). Can't do that in CONCACAF and getting into COMNEBOL competitions is problematic. So you are seeing the logic extension of it. The EPL qualifies 6 or 7 teams to Europe and the FA Cup winner qualifies for Europe. The only way for Liga MX and MLS to get their teams into international competitions is to do it themselves until they can find a way to profitably include more leagues/teams (since 500 people in Panama doesn't really do anything for anyone).

But really, just want to put to bed the notion that this sh!t doesn't happen elsewhere.
