PHI - POR game has TV advert logo for ACME. There used to be an ACME in the part of MD I grew up in, but I don't think it has existed for 20+ years. Edit: ACME and Safeway are under the Albertson umbrella. So, in my region that changed everything over to Safeway.
Kenny Saief complained publicly that "it isn't fair" other people are playing ahead of him - and now he isn't even in the 18 for FCC. Has any offseason signing fallen further that him?
He moved his hands up... The Revs should thank the ballkid that was trying not to look at Hamid for that penalty.
WOW! Thirty minutes of sustained pressure from Philly, changed over to Portland via a sub or two, and one gorgeous goal from Valeri to seal it for the Timbers.
He sounds pretty whiny in this article from The Athletic. “I felt the past week I trained every day, which (some of) the other guys didn’t train the full days, and it’s not fair,” Saief said. “I think the staff should have let me start above them, but I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. Whoever plays we should support them.”
"Even the Oakland Stompers were better than this team." That's some trash talking I would tune in for. (In case you are wondering, they stomped grapes.)
NYRB timeline had W-NYRB in Cincinnati. I wonder if they are clever enough to have riffed on WKRP in Cincinnati or if what you see is what you get?
Rooney ended the game basically as a leftback. ...another boring tie. That's a BennyBall road win. He'll be proud of the team not winning while up a man.
Random factoid: Shep Messing was one-time GK coach for a team that Bruce Arena played goalkeeper for.
I didn't watch any of the Cincinnati-NYRB game, but do see from the stats page that FCC outshot New York (12-8) and put more shots on goal (4-2). And possession was even too. Hmmm . . . smack talking seems a bit much (unless those of you who watched saw it as more uneven).
