1.) You are arguing over a different argument unrelated to my original post, which is why i didn't respond. 2.) In the North, Six Flags is open like 90 days.
1) you quoted me first, so I asumed you were against my original argument? or maybe your are on my side and you made a mistake. 2) totally irrelevant

Only wish the Sounders would open up more of the stadium more frequently. They could have sold 50,000+ seats for both the Dallas and Salt Lake playoff matches, as well as for regular season matches against Portland, LA Galaxy, and LAFC.
First overhead shot of the city I've seen without the Viaduct. Guess we won't need those invisible tarps now...
The Broncos came up with some genuine numbers for the Chargers game tonight. Tickets distributed: 74,638 No shows: 19,094 Attendance: 55,544 Twice as many no shows as previous seasons. #Broncos #LACvsDEN RT @NickiJhabvala: A lot of empty seats ... pic.twitter.com/mvlo0NuJw1— Empty Seats Galore (@EmptySeatsPics) December 1, 2019
Empty seats at NFL games is not uncommon despite what many may think. In my neck of the woods it is hitting the untouchable NCAA SEC football too. Tennessee used to sellout 100k+ every game for years and years. Despite not being competitive for some time they still used to sellout most games. The last year or 3 that has stopped. Despite having their best season in a long time (still not great) they have been FAR from selling out and lots of empty seats this year. Yes we are talking about not selling out a 102k stadium but it is the decline in popularity I am pointing out. Still massively popular.
The main difference is that these 19k + have actually paid for their tickets whereas in MLS there are thousands of no shows that count as attendance who never paid a cent.
How are there thousands of counted ticket purchasers that didn't pay a cent? Maybe hundreds but thousands? I'll have to see the math on this.
If you hate MLS you see thousands, if you like MLS you only see dozens Don't you know this formula???
I am not arguing that some teams attendance numbers don't match butts in the seat, but not sure how we know this means there are "thousands" being counted that "didn't pay a cent."
Did you read it on a book? I can think of a couple of MLS 1 teams that may have done that in the past, or may still do it. But I don't think NYCFC, for instance, are into giving away free tickets on the scale of their cross-Hudson neighbors.
I agree that some teams do it more than others but it has been common practice based on this article. https://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/la-sp-soccer-baxter-20161029-story.html?_amp=true
Something like a decade ago, either the Sacramento Bee or San Jose Mercury did an expose that found something like 30% of MLS tickets were given away. Now, obviously, MLS is a different league now with regards to attendance, but there are still teams that give away tickets and the perception remains that it is a large number.
The article says that in 2016 9% of tickets were freebies, down from 30% in 2006. If half of those people don't show up that accounts for an average of 959 tickets per match. That's not "thousands". STH no-shows account for a lot more.
Well, based on the link for the LA Times article, it seems i have some corrections. It was the San Diego Union-Tribune that did the expose a decade ago, but it also turns out the LA Times did one 3-years ago.
Not saying it doesn’t happen, but since that article was written Atlanta, MNUFC, LAFC and Cincinnati have been added. I doubt those teams are giving too many freebies away. I expect the story to be pretty similar with Nashville and Miami based on reports we’ve seen on ticket demand. Now that practice probably continues in places like Dallas, Houston, NYRB and Chicago that are having trouble drawing fans, but according to this article by Soccer America the practice of ticket giveaways continues to decline league wide with average per ticket revenues hitting an all time high in 2019. https://www.socceramerica.com/publi...ge-attendance-falls-ticket-revenues-incr.html
