Remember that *sell*out means tickets sold/distributed, not butts in seats. I can't believe people are still having that argument.
Not trying to rehash an old argument..I am an original Timbers season tix holder...I just have never seen such an empty section...btw I went to the ticket window before game for some will call tickets and asked if any walk up tix were available and they said yes...so I really doubt this entire section was "distributed" 45 min before the game...additionally I really doubt the Timbers ever had to "distribute" tix...
The Timbers are going to struggle to fill the stadium a few times this year because they've significantly expanded their capacity (and thus have reduced pent up demand for tickets) and they've got a run of 10 straight home games that includes a few midweek games. A Wednesday nigh game against one of the less-exciting teams in the league (sorry Chicago!) is a good candidate for some empty sections. Fortunately for the Timbers, the vast majority of the seats in the stadium are for season ticket holders, so they'll mostly sell out during this run. The remainder of the seats will be given to sponsors and other various groups around town. Next year (assuming they have a relatively normal schedule) things will return to normal.
That seems reasonable...additionally because of the non-availability of tickets over the years none of my friends even look for tickets from the box office- they just assume a sellout. I get multiple texts to buy my tickets every game...the awareness factor just isn't there yet that availability from the box office is actually there...
Isn't that Portland's away fan section? Which they can't actually sell because it is reserved for away fans?
Seeing the chargers play in an MLS stadium with soccer lines clearly visible on the field makes me quite giddy.
Galaxy 26,213 Chargers 23,207 Honestly I think the Chargers count butts in seats or something since it looked like they had more people than the Galaxy did. No matter though, officially the Galaxy have the bigger number and that's that. Yes, I am aware that it's preseason Still fun.
I believe NFL counts butts in seats, every game here in Chicago is sold out, but the attendance varies from game to game.
20,135 for Galaxy vs Cruz Azul 22,532 in Houston for Club America vs Tigres (rare BBVA sellout) Final is probably going to be the last soccer game ever at Sam Boyd Stadium in Vegas as it's getting torn down and will be replaced by Raiders Stadium, which is a dome.

Yes, a more anticipated regular season match was the first time ever that these teams met, which was also the debut of Zlatan. This one might be the most anticipated LAFC match.
They are still averaging 18,654 that's a 101% capacity. This is the 9th year in the stadium, is that still considered a new stadium. Not having a very good year hasn't helped, that said I bet 10-11 teams would kill for those kind of numbers.
Only 636 tickets available on ticketmaster is section 100's and 200's. Will they open up sections in the 300's or 400's? Where do the NYRB supporters sit? How many are making the trip?
The game is soon and they have to compete with the second hand ticket market to sell, so I would guess they will not open more sections.
In my dreams I foresee the traffico games being played at the Coliseum, the Rose Bowl and a neutral site in Inglewood for the 3 meetings. It'll never happen, but it would be amazing.
22 hours to the game. second hand market tickets are already sold, so basically they don't have to worry about those tickets.
