My daughter moved to Chicago about a month ago and I offered to buy her and her roommate Cubs tickets. Not the Fire, she asked? No way for you to get there in under 2 hours on public transportation, I explained. And she's in the city.
My son moved to Chicago two weeks ago and left the car in my garage. "I don't need it in Chicago". I guess no Fire for him.
Wait a second … do I see a matchmaking opportunity here?! I can tell you @butters59 that I have met the daughters of @Ismitje when his whole family was in DC and took in a United game about 3 years back … good stock!
Just watched the highlights of the DC game. Tim Parker was even worse than I thought he was, watching in the stadium. In addition to dribbling into trouble and losing the ball for the 1st goal and then completely letting Rooney run free to re-direct for the 2nd goal, the guy also lost Rooney in the box when Wayne doinked it off the crossbar as well as letting Wayne freakin' Rooney get behind him and outrun him for a thru-ball that ended in a save by Robles and then a follow-up clearance near the line by Aaron Long. Holy crap, this is someone who some people think is the US #3 or 4 CB. I don't know how he could have been any worse.
Public transportation in Chicago is almost always an adventure, and a two hour one way jaunt, both back and forth, at night, is ever an heroic adventure. And that was back in the 1980's. Bet it's really deliciously an adventure now.
The CTA is generally fine, except for the occasional mugging and the infamous Poopsock Incident of a few years ago. https://www.nbcchicago.com/traffic/...nger-attacked-sock-human-feces-184148911.html
Just quoting myself from earlier in the thread. It seems I was asking the wrong question about Stahre.
According to this article, much ado about nothing? They came, they saw, they left. https://www.prosoccerusa.com/mls/co...pporters-go-see-columbus-crew-play-in-dallas/
