Danielle Slaton has now referred to Ben Olsen as Bill and Brett during this broadcast. I'm very in favor of this becoming a thing.
I don't understand why the referee makes the keeper take the goal kick when he knows he's going to blow the whistle the second he does. What is the point?
Comrade Lalas spouting the party line that would make Stalin proud. Throwing in a bit of Dostoevsky too? I'm confused.
He has improved a LOT since he joined New York. I think he's an interesting case, in that he came to MLS right as it took a big step up in quality, and I think he's going to be one of the last to successfully navigate the jump directly from a Caribbean league to MLS. Those moves are going to be filtered through USL for the foreseeable future.
I am really sick of being told about Heineken Rivalry Week. I'm really looking forward to next weekend's absence of rivalry games.
Usually I feel like you can see the outline of the potential player a guy could become. But I saw nothing, and I thought his decision making was Irredeemably bad. Has has improved incredibly, but, still, I saw nothing to build on. Guess that’s another reason Red Bull fans should be happy I’m not their GM. (The first reason they should be glad is that I would give their best players to the Timbers.)
I'll go ahead and point out how much more dangerous DC looked when they went to the 4-1-4-1 and ask why they came out tonight with the 4-2-3-1 again. Canouse as the sole DM is fine with the possession that Asad-Acosta-Arriola-Steiber give working underneath Rooney.
