Fcuking up the field before the season even starts. Maybe they can put turf down for the pointyball games. James
20,091 in KC 26,343 average for the playoffs, with MLS CUP in Atlanta the will raise the average to around 29k.
Down 3-0 and a Thursday night game? I don’t blame anyone who didn’t buy a ticket. The Thursday night game was a real nice “thank you” from the league for the best regular season record. “Disgrace” is over stating it quite a bit. Get a grip.
XFL home venues announced. Some MLS overlap here. Dallas – Globe Life Park Houston – TDECU Stadium Los Angeles – StubHub Center New York – MetLife Stadium St. Louis – The Dome at America’s Center Seattle – CenturyLink Field Tampa Bay – Raymond James Stadium Washington, DC – Audi Field Very curious that they didn't go with Red Bull Arena in New York/Jersey... Metlife is certainly too big... Also baseball stadium in Dallas instead of Toyota stadium. Does the XFL expect > 20k attendance in some markets? Ambitious.
BBVA Compass in Houston was on the list originally but apparently they have moved over to the stadium at the University of Houston.
Will chargers be out of stub hub by then? If not that will be some interesting scheduling and some serious damage to the field.
My son is an electrical engineer working on the design of the Rams Stadium. My understanding is that it is set to open for the 2020 NFL season which means the Chargers will be at Stub Hub for the 2019 season.
XFL is now starting in 2020, so barring another construction delay, Chargers will be out. Given the XFL's choice of markets, I don't think this league will last long.
The new NFL stadium in LA is scheduled to open in 2020. That's the same year that the new XFL kicks off. So the Chargers last season at StubHub should be 2019 and the XFL team would start there in 2020. It should also be noted that the XFL plans to run its schedule February through April or May so games will have to schedule around MLS but would not have conflicted with the NFL games in any case.
http://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/...ders-packers/dky07jdst5w1mcy7cgsm7q6s/slide/1 Sporting News ranked all the NFL stadiums. Here is how the MLS Stadiums did: 29) Stubhub Center 16) Gillette Stadium 10) Mercedes Benz Stadium 2) CentutyLink Field
I bit. Clickbait with no real reasoning behind their rankings, some of which seem more dependent on crowd than venue.
Yes, totally a just for fun link. No real rhyme or reason behind it. It's off-season though, so I thought I'd be ok to share.
So Atlanta averaged 71,187 for the playoffs 53,002 for regular season 1,114,594 total attendance season and playoffs combined for a total average of 55,729. That is higher than 4 NFL teams thus far this year. Yes, I know the NFL numbers are only regular season, but they also have half the games so they should have an easier time selling tickets considering the much lower supply.
Atlanta Utd tickets are priced so that normal people can attend. So what? Or are you simply telling us that NFL tickets are more in demand than MLS ones? If so, thanks for that incredible insight - who knew?
NashSC was comparing Atlanta attendance to the NFL. He listed the fewer games for the NFL that might affect the numbers but did not say anything about ticket price. I was just providing another data point and asking for more information.
