So, serious question: Who gets the pink slip first? EDIT: Forgot this is Onalfo's first season. He'll get the season.
I've been told more then once I listen to terrible music so I think I'm perfectly qualified to judge terrible music.
The Rapids have 15 shots on goal this season after 6 games, dead last in the league. Next to last is Seattle at 24 (Seattle's number may not be updated with today's stats). Last year in their highly successful defense/horrible offense strategy the Rapids had 34 shots on goal in their first 6 games.
Good one! As soon as someone can stop Robben, I mean anyone, I am certain he will start going to his right. That's like saying, I notice this guy here with a gun seems to be stopping this other guy over here holding a knife. And almost as a nation we have poor, poor, poor, poor technique and touch. You learn this as a kid just messing around, but you also use over and over again in scrimmages and matches where you are encouraged and taught by your coaches. You go watch a german or japanese match and the kids are actively taught ball at the feet moves, passing, technique. Over and over again.
O Maple Leafs @sitruc Toronto's ineptitude simply extending the Capital's ETA until hitting the beach and golf course.
******** Canada ******** MLSE ******** Toronto ******** the number six ******** anyone who writes "6ix" ******** anyone who reminds me the second round and the Pens are next.
Robben can't use his right. That's why he doesn't do it. Otherwise he'd be even nastier and exploit when opponents are shading him to that side. It's remarkable how much success he has just using one foot, but it is a hindrance here and there. You could say a similar thing about Morris, relative to league. I mean he did help propel his team to MLS Cup last year and down the stretch was one of the keys. I don't know how you teach kids technique repeatedly during a match. It wouldn't get done in a day. It does get addressed in training. What else can they work on to take away from it, other than running without a ball for fitness, which happens in Europe too. You do learn it heavily just messing around as a kid, as I did (I was one of the players you couldn't tell which foot was my strong one from watching). It's inconsistent whether kids do it in the States or not. That's of course because other sports dominate to detract from this desire. Some kids are influenced by this when trying to transfer to football and others aren't, because they did have the urge. If Jordan missed out on this, I don't know if that damage can be reversed at this st(age). But if it can, here they'd have almost as good of a shot as the average place there. There's nothing magical that's done there, even in places like Dortmund, as Pulisic's father as a coach there even acknowledged. Just about work and focus. Like I said, I'm sure he's been told to practice.
This problem of touch and technique must necessarily go back over 20 years because the only guys who can consistently 1. collect pass, 2. hold off opponent 3. pass with attacking intent under pressure on the USMNT are either 1. Clint Dempsey or 2. Trained in Europe from early on. Watch teams in MLS. Those teams with good attacking intent generally use foreign players to pull the strings. This is because 1. they have the technique to 2. implement attacking ideas. When you put the US players in charge of the midfield you might get one, but rarely will you get both. And those two things are the key to professional soccer.
If the price of SRFC's entry into MLS was being coached for a time by Onalfo, that's a deal with the devil that I just might make. I mean, I survived Onalfo's "coaching" once. I could do it again.
Nope, its just the Rapids FO and Pablo returning to their ways after a brief flirtation with competency.
And that the Twins played at home earlier in the day. Wish it were more, but I am not entirely displeased with 17,500 on a Sunday evening.
And just day after posting this ... BREAKING: Frank Yallop has resigned as @PHXRisingFC Head Coach Search for new boss to begin immediately.https://t.co/0yhnlYlU74 pic.twitter.com/7mcxC6SHLo— USL Championship (@USLChampionship) April 24, 2017
