That was an interesting save attempt by Diop - punching the ball down into the ground with two fists. It was not an effective technique.

    SKC 1-0

Wasn't it just today - maybe yesterday - that word came out about the Euro teams looking at LA's Diop as a transfer target? My word, that was bad from him.

But wasn't it some of the minnows or anchovies who were interested (Guingamp, Anderlecht, etc), or am I thinking of someone else?

Yep. Three top-division clubs. Two in Europe's top five leagues, and the third a perennial title contender in Belgium that always gets into UEFA competitions.

Meanwhile, 99% of Galaxy fans think Kempin should be starting over him right now. Of all the MLS players to draw European transfer interest, him? There's at least 15 better transfer targets on the Galaxy roster right now, let alone the rest of MLS.

Hats off to Opara. That's a golazo.

But the Galaxy defenders shouldn't have let the ball bounce in the first place, and Diop needed to be more decisive.

Okay, that was amazing from Opara and I am happy for him. But his teammates have to be careful jumping all over him in celebration - that guy has been injured in too many ways to not be careful!

So...in her second-ever professional soccer match, the future Mrs. Bluecat saw...

A half dozen yellow cards...yet another PK...a team somehow have 77% possession in the first half and still be trailing 2-0...and a Vancouver Whitecaps blown tire (which term was explained to her delight on the walk back to the parking ramp from the light rail station).

She also referred to the tangerine-clad David Ousted as a "Flaming Hot Cheeto" so I think she's hooked... :)

If LA's home field disadvantage continues, I have to like Sacramento's chances midweek.

Apologies if this has already been addressed...

Looking at the boxscore for Atlanta/Colorado. Yellow card in the 81st minute to Micheal Azira. Reason listed: "Extra flag to checker."

WTF is that supposed to mean?

Is it just me or were these PBP threads far busier the last few years than now?

Anyway, watching LA again and it's embarrassing Zardes hasn't been dropped. Does LA have such a terrible roster now that they have no other options than a guy with 0 goals/1 assist in 900+ mins?

    Yikes.

Urena got through about a half dozen times before that goal.

San Jose with the 10-man advantage. RSL has no hope now.

Nick Lima, who did not get the ball, tries to avoid the second yellow by pointing at the ball and claiming he had done so.

I like the insight Danielle Slaton brings from the sideline (often on Fox, also with the SJE broadcast as she is tonight).

By the way, the SKC-LAG game is getting ugly. Some of the fouls (starting with the one on Benny) have been bad.
