Fun...as in, an enjoyable viewing experience? Or, a train wreck waiting to happen? Or, something in between?
Very close to an opening goal for Russia. Goal line technology and replay shows the ball did not cross the line. New Zealand under loads of pressure here in the early going.
New Zealand giving Russia a dose of their own medicine now. Both teams look a little sketchy in the back. Russia with the edge at keeper.
Guys... I don't think New Zealand is very good. I like that Vancouver Whitecaps II is a tie to the US. ******** Canadia.
When they went undefeated in the 2010 World Cup, they had a total of something like 25 professional players to choose from (and that was including USL players). I doubt there are too many more than 25 professional soccer playing Kiwis right now.
Well, that was one of the ugliest (or most comical) goals you'll ever see, but hey, they all count, right?
If he didn't score, I bet adrenaline would not have allowed him to get up so quickly after contact with the post. That looked like it could have been bad.
So, I guess this means there's hope for the Solomon Islands to get that OFC half-spot in September? Whoever wins will get smoked in the playoffs (vs. CONMEBOL).
