Bobby Shuttleworth doesn't make the 18 as MIN gets crushed in their debut, losing in POR 5-1.

I noticed that. And the starting keeper gave up a pretty awful near post shot as well as a pk. If he plays like that again, Shuttleworth may get his chance soon enough. Minnesota is going to be awful this year - not only based on last night's result.

And here I was, thinking he might have picked up a minor knock in training. I would say the door is wide-open for Shuttleworth to claim the Number 1 GK position. Huzzah!

I love, love, love Acosta from FCD flat out stating that their goal is to be the best team in the league.

I suspect that's even aiming low for them. They might be the best team on the continent.

And look at the Bruins. At the start of the year, everyone from the owner on down said that it was "unacceptable" to be listless and playing like crap. The team was mired in mediocrity for most of the season, but they actually held the coach accoutable and fired him. Since then, they have been something like 7-2, and while they may not win the Stanley Cup, they should make the playoffs the way things are going now.

Think that would ever happen with the Revs? Let's say things completely crash and burn this year, Heaps might get the axe after the season is over. Jonathan will say something inane like "Jay Heaps has been a great coach and loyal servant to the club and he led us to the MLS Cup final in 2014. And despite our 5-22-6 record with a -28 GD, we tried unsuccessfuly to persuade him to stay on to right the ship, so we accepted his resignation."

As they say in the old country, "Until the ink is dry, you cannot fix it." Imagine if we had a partner club in a major European league where we might be able to get players. Wouldn't that be really cool, huh?

Did you guys see the awesome new marketing program Dallas has?

For every player they sell, they will split 1% of the transfer fee between all season ticket holders. They are starting with Fabian Castillo transfer fee. It was quite modest so the season ticket holders are only splitting $28k but it is a really cool program especially considering how much good young talent Dallas has.

So this is what a weekend where the Revs don't exist is like..... It turns out that MLS has a bunch of teams that are really committed to playing a higher quality, more developed, depth supported version of the game....What kind of heresy is this?

I'm worried about the Minnesota game coming up. Sure, they got gubbed by a total of 11-2 in their last 2 games, so for them, it's a wake-up call. I figure they'll bunker hte hell out of us with 14 men behind the ball, and Heaps will be bereft of ideas on how to break it down. Eventually, we'll eeke out an 83-minute goal to win it, but none of us will have any nails left.

And Bobby will start for them against his old team, and he'll make at least one save where we'll be saying, "how come he never made saves like that for us?" Huzzzah!

After that Minnesota game, thank God they're the revs' next opponent.

I'm pretty sure we have Dallas next, who I'm not looking forward to playing.

Correct, FC Dallas this weekend. And they are playing their starters on Wednesday in their CCL game. So at least we have that going for us.
