we could buy it out or cancel it. not sure if the penalties around be worth it though.

think he'd have to agree to cancel it first anyway

Buying it out would come at a HUGE cost, like enough to buy a really good player.

Best bet would be to bench him, drop him from the squad and hope his competitive fire means he will agree to better terms.

Sell him to China at a cut price. He'll be attracted by the huge wages and we get him off our wage bill.

We will likely still have to subsidize his wages. He's on too much and Chinese clubs aren't spending like they used to. But at this stage, if we could get rid of him and only have to pay like 100k of his wages it would be a damn steal. I'd even settle for a loan deal for temporary relief where we again, only pay a portion of his wages.

The Sanchez deal is the kind of deal that would get a director of football fired.

The news on Sanchez is not as bad as originally thought, but it his season looks all but over all the same. Reports suggest he's going to be out 6 to 8 weeks.

Who would have thought Arsenal got the better deal in that swap.

they're both pretty rotten deals tbh. Mkhitaryan is allegedly on £200k/wk and hardly ever fit or on the field

Mkhi has looked pretty good since returning from his broken foot.

Training footage from the team today in Paris showed Greenwood training with the rest of the guys, which implies he's fit again. Not sure what it means as far as tomorrow and his availability are concerned, but it's good news that he's fit again.

Mason should be our first attacking sub off the bench for the rest of the season until/unless we are working someone who has been injured back into the fold. I want this kid to get experience, particularly a run-in where every point could be crucial.

Basically he should get the Ronaldo treatment. I'm not sure he's ready, but given our squad depth right now there's an opportunity for him to improve and grow and it should not be wasted. Next season he might only get CC cup games or maybe 1 FA Cup match, if that. That could all change IF he gets a chance to play.

If we're losing this game by a couple of goals I'd hope Ole would introduce three youngsters and let them go for it.

Any news on Martial or Herrera? Having them back for the Arsenal game would be huge.

I really hope Lingard isn't trying to come back too early.

By the time the Wolves game in the FA Cup rolls around, it will have been just about a month since the Pool game. So it would stand to reason that he's back and ready for that game. With that being said, given our added depth plus with other players like Martial coming back, there's definitely no reason to rush him back and insure he's 100% again.

Latest fitness update: Herrera looks to be in line for a return for the FA Cup game vs Wolves this weekend. Lingard and Mata will have to wait until after the international break to make their returns.
Greenwood is going to miss out on the Youth League game today vs Midtjylland because he's sick: his inclusion for the FA Cup is still in the air though at this point.

Rash, Martial, and one of the kids should be our front 3 for the Wolves game,

I'd bet on Rash/Martial and AP in the hole.

Ole's injury update from today's press conference: Lukaku has a sore foot this week, he’s being assessed, so hopefully he’ll get through today. Phil Jones is back, there have been so many players out, Martial is back, Herrera has been training, Lingard has been training and there is a decision to make tomorrow on who’s match fit. Greenwood has been ill, so he’s not trained this week. He might be back in training today.

Luke Shaw dropped out of England's squad because of injury. Hopefully for precautionary reasons.
