Marcos Rojo is back in training. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-injury-news-rojo-15668697
Sanchez came back to training today, while both Pogs and Matic missed out: reason unknown for Pogba (rumors that his partner gave birth to their child). The Matics did welcome a new baby girl.
Pogba picked up an injury towards the end of yesterday's game and was apparently limping pretty heavily afterwards. He's going in for scans to determine the extent of it. Fingers crossed, it's nothing too serious.
Valencia suffered an injury setback. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/val...-utd-skipper-heads-/msy7xus0yoa91s78fmx7vtrat Will be out for a couple of weeks.
Valencia aside, the only injury worry is Darmian who has a knock. Rojo has returned to training and is on his way back. So health wise, we look to be in good shape going into a very crucial period for the team.
Sanchez may have suffered some sort of injury as he warmed up prior to coming on yesterday. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ured-running-linesman-Uniteds-defeat-PSG.html It's the DM so I suppose it needs to be confirmed. Make of it what you will...
We're expected to get confirmation later when Ole speaks at today's press conference, but the news on Lingard and Martial does not look as bad as originally, according to Luckhurst. They're both out of Monday's game, but have an outside chance of making it back for Pool. Point is, they don't look to be out for an extended time.
According to Skysports, both Lingard and Martial have been ruled out for up to 3 weeks. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt5-S8GAYZA/
Damn really bad news, lets see how Ole manages without them maybe Lukaku on RWF Sanchez LWF Rashford CF. We have lost lot of pace and intensity but dont bloody loose against Dippers ..
Somebody has to step up big or this is enough to drop us out of the top 4. I'm hoping Lukaku gets the chance. He's most likely to be able to pick up some of the scoring slack. We can't rely on Rash.
It's a possible option, I suppose but it would still be kind of a stretch. And although very versatile, AP's best role seems to be the playmaker/10 role. Would love to see him where Mata was deployed in the setup we used today for instance, at the forward tip of the diamond, in support of the front 2.
Confirmed that Matic got injured in training and there are fears he could be out for a while (upcoming scan will determine how long) Ole on his injury: “He got injured during one of the training sessions a few days ago so we tried to get him fit for the game but it wasn't to be. He'll probably be out for a couple of weeks so we'll manage without.”
Matic, Herrera, Mata, Lingard all down with injury and Rashford is a worry as well. Not what we needed as we come into the business end of the season.
Jose's training I tell you. We wont ever get ahead this now without a proper pre season. They simply weren't fit enough to sustain this new intensity over a stretch of games. We haven't been properly fit in a few years now.
Time to call up all of Gomes, Chong and Greenwood (if he's recovered from his own injury) if the injuries above are confirmed and long term ones (for depth at least, if nothing else initially). Garner might be another possible one as well. Hoping against hope that Rashford's injury is not that serious (and that Martial can return fairly soon also): just shudder at the thought of where goals will come from with Sanchez and Lukaku up top. So ironic also since goals and assists should be flowing out of these 2, under 'normal' circumstances.
Sanchez will be assessed over the next 24-48 hrs. Concerns that he may have suffered knee ligament damage. Needless to say, he won't feature in the Champions League vs PSG on Wednesday. #MUFC pic.twitter.com/KneXm8cf8t— Ben Dinnery (@BenDinnery) March 2, 2019
There's good and bad in this tbh. The good, clearly is that he might be out for the remainder of the season. The bad is that we're boned in terms of trying to move him this summer if he's going to be on the shelf 8-9mos minimum. But yeah, it sucks that he got hurt but I'm certainly not crying over it: we saw the difference once Dalot came on. It was immediate how things changed for us.
