Shaw apparently picked up an injury during the game. Not thought to be very serious (knock) but it could rule him for England's upcoming games.
Matic has also pulled out of the Serbian squad and has returned to Carrington for treatment and he's a doubt for the Chelsea game. Would like to think that if it were the case, that AP would be in line for a start, but we have to assume that Mourinho would turn to McTominay ahead of him.
With Sanchez out and Martial performing on the left, lets see how long before Jose throws Martial on the bench in favor of Sanchez again. I give it a couple weeks max.
I doubt it. The logical thing to do would be to keep Martial at LF and bench Lukaku, with Sanchez as the CF.
We can hope that Martial's recent form will trigger a sustained run in the team, but that's as far as it goes for now. Since when after all is logic the motivator in Mourinho's decision making? 'logic' would dictate that AP would not become an afterthought a strong start of the season. 'logic' would have seen Lukaku being benched more often. Could go on and on really: what seems logical or obvious to most is simply not what Mourinho goes by. Fingers crossed though is that Martial continues to play well and keeps his place. But there's no guarantee that is what will happen. It was Martial after all who was completely discarded from February on, when he was one of our best players at the time...
Valencia and Fellaini have returned to training today, while Lukaku has not taken part, meaning he's likely out of tomorrow's game vs Juve.
Pogba will not be playing for France in their 2 upcoming games. Hope he'll be good to go for Palace after the break.
Lukaku missing tonights Belgium game with Iceland due to hamstring injury (same one that has made him miss games for us).
Valencia (who played for Ecuador) contradicts Mourhinho in interview and says he has been dropped for Ashley Young and has not been injured. https://www.goal.com/en/news/valenc...mourinho-at-man-utd/shh3srde7mnd18q4d21z5m7xt
Lindelof manager says was not muscle injury but that Lindelof felt dizzy and low on energy (apparently there is a stomach bug doing the rounds). So hopefully we won't have to call on Jones and Rojo
Rashford is now a doubt for Palace next weekend. Lukaku appears to be out again with a hamstring injury. The news on Martial appears to be positive and it looks he should be good to go.
Mourinho has confirmed in today's press conference that Lindelof has sustained a serious muscular injury. He will be having a scan on it tomorrow, by which time the full extent of it will be assessed. But it's likely he's going to be out for a while. Rojo is also out with a small injury (this guy just can't stay fit anymore). Smalling, Bailly and Jones are the 3 available CBs right now.
